What's wrong: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2025 Hyundai Palisade vehicles. An insufficient seal on the controller for the electric oil pump may allow moisture to accumulate in the printed circuit board, which can cause an electrical short and result in a fire.
The danger: A fire while parked or driving can increase the risk of injury.
The fix: Owners are advised to park their vehicles outside and away from structures until the recall remedy is completed. Dealers will replace the electric oil pump controller, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed June 11, 2025. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. Hyundai's number for this recall is 278.

What's wrong: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The seat belt buckles in the driver, passenger, and second-row window seats may fail to latch.
The danger: Seat belt buckles that fail to latch may not properly restrain occupants in a crash, increasing the risk of injury.
The fix: Passengers are advised to insert the belt firmly into the buckle with a quick and direct motion, pulling on the belt to confirm the seat belt is fully secured, until the recall remedy is performed. Dealers will replace the seat belt buckle assemblies, free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning October 23, 2025. Final remedy owner letters will be mailed in phases, beginning in June 2026 and expected to continue through December 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. What's wrong: Hyundai Motor America (Hyundai) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Palisade vehicles. The side curtain air bags for third-row occupants may deploy improperly in a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 226, "Ejection Mitigation."
The danger: Improper side curtain air bag deployment increases the risk of injury during a crash.
The fix: Dealers will install a protective film over the rear window and remove padding, as necessary free of charge. Interim notification letters, notifying owners of the safety risk, were mailed beginning March 13, 2026. Final remedy owner letters will be mailed in phases, beginning in June 2026 and expected to continue through December 2026. Owners may contact Hyundai customer service at 1-855-371-9460. The contact owned a 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The contact stated that while driving at an undisclosed speed, the brake pedal was depressed with both feet, but the brakes failed to engage properly. The vehicle slid and jumped, and the brakes made a grinding sound. No warning light was illuminated. The failure caused the vehicle to rear-end another vehicle in front. The air bags deployed. The contact experienced neck pain, and her husband suffered a burn mark from the air bag deployment. The contact's eleven-year-old son suffered neck pain and a seat belt burn, while her other child had no injuries seated in a car seat. Medical attention was received. A Police report was filed. The vehicle was towed to a salvage yard and declared a total loss by the insurance company. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The contact stated that prior to the crash, the vehicle had been taken to the dealer for the brake failure, and the dealer performed a brake inspection and passed the vehicle. The failure mileage was approximately 16,000.
I am submitting this supplemental complaint regarding a repeated and dangerous brake failure in my 2025 Hyundai Palisade. This is a follow-up to my original complaint submitted in July 2025. On multiple occasions while driving at low speeds (around 5 mph), including turning into driveways or approaching intersections, the braking system failed to respond properly. The brake pedal felt like it lost connection — similar to how a bike slips when its brake fails. The vehicle kept moving forward even while I was applying the brake. This nearly caused accidents several times. I believe the automatic emergency braking system (AEB) also failed to engage. One incident caused me to hit a fence, resulting in a small dent. Hyundai is now refusing to repair the safety systems under warranty because of that dent — even though the dent was a result of the brake malfunction. I brought the vehicle to an authorized Hyundai service center, and they refused to cover the issue under warranty or provide a loaner vehicle, leaving me to drive a potentially dangerous car. I also want to note that I have seen multiple recent NHTSA complaints from other Hyundai Palisade owners describing similar brake issues. This suggests a wider pattern of brake failure, which must be urgently investigated before someone is seriously injured or worse. Hyundai has failed to properly investigate the issue or assist me in any meaningful way. This vehicle is still under warranty, and I am unable to safely use it while they delay responsibility.

The contact stated that the entire vehicle burned with the exception of the rear exterior lights and the rear passenger's side tire. The fire was extinguished by the Fire Department, and a report was filed. A Police report was filed. There was no property damage. The contact was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The contact sustained chest pains, bruises on the chest cavity, several contusions and bruises, and difficulty breathing. The contact was undergoing breathing therapy. The vehicle was towed and deemed a total loss by the insurance company. The dealer and the manufacturer were not contacted. The failure mileage was approximately 40,000.
While turning into a driveway at low speed (approximately 5 mph), I attempted to brake, but the brakes did not respond properly. The vehicle began to bump and resist braking, and failed to stop when expected, causing me to hit a fence. This model is equipped with automatic braking and collision avoidance systems that should have activated, but they failed to engage. This was a concerning failure for a brand-new vehicle equipped with advanced safety systems. Hyundai has not provided any clear answers or support. This appears to be a malfunction in the braking or electronic safety systems, and I believe it poses a serious risk to other drivers and pedestrians

I was in a car accident on the freeway. Hit from behind. Non of the seat belts locked from the shoulder. Me and my 4 kids all suffered whiplash. The seat belt failed to restrain.
This vehicle has had an open recall for defective seat belts since 9/11/2025, but the Hyundai dealership I purchased from has been unable to perform repairs due to insufficient parts on hand. I've been told we're on a waitlist for parts but there is a nationwide shortage and there is no estimate when parts will be available.
This is in relation to the recall 25V607000 issued September 19, 2025. My and my children's safety has been put at risk by Hyundai's failure to obtain replacement parts to fix this recall. They have no date expected for the requisite parts, and I am driving with the anxiety that the seatbelts could malfunction at any time and endanger me and my family.

NHTSA recall number 25V-607. I've been trying to have this recall service performed but have been notified since NOVEMBER 2025 the parts are on backorder. Was scheduled to have the recall service performed today and upon arrival was informed that the parts were not available after being told that the parts were in?????? 6 months is a reasonable amount of time to has this performed, why is Hyundai slow walking this safety issue?

It happened on the way home from Manhattan [from Mount Sinai Hospital], near the ramp to 9W. The road was freshly milled (top layer removed before repaving), and I was going downhill. Traffic ahead was slowing, I had plenty of room, and it wasn’t even a sudden stop — I was just trying to gradually slow down when the car failed to respond properly. This isn’t some one-off. The behavior matches what I’ve seen others report: at low speeds, on rough or uneven surface, the ABS seems to engage when it shouldn’t, and instead of stopping, the car jerks forward. I’ve been able to replicate it a few times now — I more or less can sense when it might happen. To make matters worse, my pregnant wife was in the passenger seat when this happened. She injured her left shoulder during the crash, and the very next day she had to undergo an emergency C-section. Because her lower body was numbed for surgery, the pain in her shoulder made the whole experience much harder for her [btw, Mother and Baby are perfectly fine, thanks god]. This has left me shaken that a family SUV can have such a dangerous defect on the road. I purchased a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL from Bud Clary Hyundai Auburn on July 2, 2026. Prior to purchase, the dealership acknowledged that the vehicle had open safety recalls and stated that customers could not take delivery until the recalls were addressed. I later relied on dealership representations that the recalls were being fixed and completed the purchase. After delivery, Hyundai Customer Care and the dealership's service department both confirmed that the recalls remain open on the vehicle. Hyundai has since confirmed in writing that the recalls have been open for an extended period of time. The open recalls include NHTSA recalls 25V607000 and 26V034000. I am submitting this complaint because I believe NHTSA should be aware that a new vehicle may have been delivered to a customer while these safety recalls remained open.
November 2025 I was on the freeway when I heard a loud bang. With my two young children in the car, I pulled off and inspected my car to find the rear moon roof glass had exploded. Luckily at the time, I had the shade closed or the glass would have been on my children and their car seats. I took it to the dealership and after a few weeks, my car was finished being repaired and returned to me. Last week, June 18 2026 I again was driving on the highway and heard again another loud bang. Only a few minutes away, I drove straight to the dealership, I knew it was the sounds of my moonroof again. They repaired and returned my car for a second time.
The sunroof exploded while driving down the highway. It put other driver's at risk since glass was flying from the roof. I am waiting on a call from the dealership for a remedy for repair.
XXX - approx 9:00pm - departed Copper and Sage restaurant enroute to the WigWam. After about 1/2 mile at 30-35mph, I slowed down to make a right turn. After completing the turn I pressed the accelerator to continue and the Palisade had absolutely no power. I pressed the pedal to the floor with no success. I was finally forced to pull over and stop the vehicle and place it in park. After doing so, the Palisade was able to return to operation with the pedal and for fear of another incident we drove home. 2nd Incident - 2 Mar 2026 - approx 1200pm. We were traveling west on XXX from [XXX] to [XXX] and began the ascent through the mountains going west towards XXX. After experiencing a steady grade upward approximately 6-7% at speed of 55-60mph, I used the hand shift paddle to downshift one gear to assist in the upward climb. Upon doing so, the Palisade once again died with no power at all. I pushed the accelerator pedal to the floor with no success of power. This incident could have been devastating as we were in the far left lane with many other vehicles behind us. I had no place to pull over to the left so I began to make my way to the right shoulder over 3 lanes very slowly under only previous velocity motion. We narrowly avoided being hit from behind numerous times and finally made it over to the right shoulder. After finally stopping the Palisade, I put the vehicle in park and it returned to operation with the pedal once again. We then carefully pulled out off the shoulder and the Palisade operated normally until we arrived at our destination. What happened: A franchised Hyundai dealership installed aftermarket window tint on a new 2025 Hyundai Palisade Calligraphy Night Edition prior to sale without disclosing it as a dealer add-on. When the vehicle was brought in for an active manufacturer safety recall concerning the rear quarter-window glass, the dealership informed us that the official factory recall remedy (applying a protective safety film) cannot adhere to window tint. Because the dealer-installed tint prevents the recall protective film from adhering, the dealership was unable to perform the safety recall unless the window tint was permanently removed or omitted. Component involved: Rear quarter-window glass and safety recall protective film. The vehicle and windows are available for inspection upon request. Safety Risk: The official Hyundai safety recall addresses an issue where the rear quarter-window glass poses a potential safety risk. Because the dealer-installed modification physically prevents the application of the recall safety film, the vehicle remains without the manufacturer's required safety recall remedy. Furthermore, dealership service personnel initially advised us to simply waive or decline the safety-related recall rather than resolving the modification conflict, leaving a potential safety hazard unaddressed. Dealer Confirmation & Inspection: The issue was confirmed by the authorized Hyundai dealership's service department and Service Director in writing. They verified that the recall film and the pre-installed tint are physically incompatible and that the recall remedy was omitted as a result.

When exiting a paking lot, the Vechile did not Warn/Detect or di not Stop, while there was a 2 feet rock in the front of the bumper, whcih is 2 feet by 2 feet. The big rock hit exactly between the 2 sesonrs and no waring or didnt stop the vechile from colliding which damged the whole front bumper. I had my 2 kids and wife in the vechile, the only concern, I have is my wife drives the vechile all time, if it did not detect/warn/stop before hitting a big rock, what is the garentee it will save us from any major accidents. I took to the delar ship, havent got an appoitment for 2 weeks just to look at the sensors and they say to call Hundai Coustomr service and after 2 weeks of taking to Hundai customer service they are asking me to deal with the delaer ship. and they are pointing to each other while I get no response. and all they say is there is No way to pull the sensor information prior to tha accident.
In general even in slow speed the emergency break kicks in and actually the vehicle is sliding and not stopping. Now in the snow when you try to stop again the vehicle is shaking and sliding instead of stopping
The vehicle’s forward collision warning / rear cross-traffic warning system is falsely detecting obstacles while I am driving down a normal residential driveway. The driveway has a gentle slope overall, with a slightly sharper angle right at the point where it meets the street. As I begin to move down the driveway—both in Drive and Reverse—the vehicle emits warning beeps and then suddenly and aggressively applies the brakes on its own, even though the path is completely clear. The braking is abrupt and forceful, and the system appears to misinterpret the brief angle change at the curbline as an obstacle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the unexpected hard stop could cause a collision or loss of control. More importantly, if the system behaves this way on a simple residential driveway, it could be extremely hazardous on public roads that have larger hills, dips, or transitions. Sudden automatic braking on a main roadway or at higher speeds could lead to a serious crash. The problem has occurred repeatedly and consistently at the same driveway since I began driving the vehicle. It happens nearly every time. I took the vehicle to Speck Hyundai in Kennewick, WA, but the dealer was unable to reproduce the issue during their inspection. I have video evidence clearly showing the warning beeps and the vehicle braking on its own.
A dangerous and unpredictable braking issue has plagued my brand-new SUV (under 5,000 miles). On multiple occasions, the brakes have engaged suddenly and without warning while driving, causing the vehicle to stop abruptly in the middle of the road. This creates a hazardous situation with the potential for rear-end collisions, putting my family at risk and causing back pain to my passengers. The same problem also occurs when parking. The dealership requires a five-day service appointment, but the lack of any pre-warning lamps or indicators makes this issue especially concerning.
My car has had numerous issue. The first issue was with the front end collision warning system. I had a sensor warning come on twice saying it may not be in use, but then it falsely predicted a collision resulting in the car slamming on the brakes when nothing was there. I almost go rear-ended as a result. The dealer found that the radar system was completely broken and the sensor was facing to the side instead of the front. I bought the car brand new and there was no evidence of damage and it has never been explained how it got damaged. They replaced the system and that was resolved, but the sensors continue acting strange. It's now turning on the camera and telling me to check my surroundings when I'm stopped at a red light. There is nothing happening around me. The problem that is ongoing and has yet to be resolved is my brakes. It's an intermittent issue, but when I go over rough surfaces and hit the brakes I get a crunching/grinding noise that sounds like it's grinding rocks. This happens intermittently. The dealer was eventually able to replicate it and is saying it's the ABS system and that it's normal, but cannot do anything to repair it. However, it is not normal for ABS to come on going over a bump and it shouldn't sound like that. When this happens, the brakes don't seem to respond properly and as quickly as it should. I have not gotten any warning lights for the brake issue. It does put the parking brake on at times for no reason when I'm on a completely flat surface. The car was out of service for 21 days in a month and a half of owning it. I have a car that I don't feel safe in and I don't trust what it's going to do. It's problem after problem and corporate Hyundai doesn't want to do anything about it.

THE REAR CAMBER AND TOE ADJUSTER CAMS ARE COMING LOOSE. NOTICING A PROBLEM WITH 2 DIFFERENT CUSTOMER'S PALISADES. BOTH MODELS UNDER 50000 MILES. VEHICLES HAD NOT BEEN ALIGNED SINCE THE OEM BUILD.
I am reporting a safety-related defect with a 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL. Within days of purchase (December 14, 2024), I began experiencing abnormal noise and vibration from the rear of the vehicle. The issue consistently occurs at highway speeds (45–55 mph) and over bumps. The problem has been present since the first week of ownership and has worsened over time. Multiple inspections confirmed the issue: •Selling dealership dismissed it as “normal tire noise” without proper diagnosis •Second Hyundai dealership confirmed severe abnormal wear (cupping) on all four tires •Independent inspection (Firestone) confirmed uneven tire wear, alignment out of specification, and ongoing vibration Despite early reporting, Hyundai Motor America has refused to provide a root cause diagnosis or take responsibility. They denied tire replacement, attributing the issue to tire wear. This explanation is not valid. Tires do not develop severe cupping shortly after purchase without an underlying defect such as improper alignment or suspension issues. This condition creates a safety risk: •vibration reduces vehicle stability at highway speeds •uneven wear increases risk of tire failure The issue affects all four tires and was present almost immediately after purchase, indicating a likely manufacturing or setup defect. The problem has been confirmed by multiple service providers but remains unresolved. The vehicle is not safe to operate under normal driving conditions. I request immediate investigation into a potential manufacturing defect affecting vehicle safety. Hyundai has been aware of this issue since the first week of ownership and failed to take corrective action. Despite multiple documented inspections confirming abnormal tire wear and vibration, no root cause diagnosis or repair has been provided. This raises serious concerns about a potential systemic defect affecting vehicle safety.
Defective rear self-leveling shocks/suspension. Unstable going over even small bumps. No replacement parts available. Took service technician on a ride along to confirm issue. Tech stated itis a know issue with a formal TSB published with 20-22 models but is also affecting newer models.

Hello, I would like to report the rental company that rented us the car with 2 open recalls. The name of the company is NU car rental locating at 2900 SE 6th Ave, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33316. It rented us a Hyundai Palisade with the plate number [XXX] from April 5 to April 10th, 2026. They knew that we needed a car for 6 people and that the 3rd row was going to be used. And the 2nd recall relates to the use of 3 row seats. Please see the rental agreement as a proof. I know the same company in Orlando was under federal investigation for the same issue. To my knowledge, rental companies are prohibited from renting cars with open recalls by the federal law. Please investigate this company. My 2025 Hyundai Palisade intermittently experiences an abnormally high engine idle of approximately 1,500 RPM during the first few minutes of driving. The condition occurs randomly and is not present on every trip. While stopped at stop signs or intersections with my foot firmly on the brake pedal, I can feel the engine pushing against the brakes because of the elevated idle speed. When I release the brake pedal, the vehicle accelerates forward significantly faster than it normally would at idle. The engine speed eventually returns to a normal idle after several minutes of driving, but during the event the vehicle behaves unpredictably. This has occurred on both flat roads and hills. I have documented the condition on video showing the tachometer at approximately 1,500 RPM while the vehicle is stopped and my foot is on the brake. The vehicle was inspected by an authorized Hyundai dealership and remained there for approximately one week. The dealership was unable to reproduce the condition during testing and returned the vehicle without repairs. No warning lights or messages have appeared. Because the condition is intermittent and results in unexpected forward acceleration when the brake is released, I believe it presents a potential safety risk.
Vehicle stalls while at red lights stop signs or in parking lot. No lights come on prior to it stalling it just stalls throws itself into park and stalls. Very scary situation.

Despite multiple repair visits (six times) to an authorized Hyundai dealership, the dealer repeatedly stated that the condition could not be reproduced and no repairs were performed. I provided video evidence of the white smoke and described the symptoms in writing at each visit. Shortly after the most recent service visit(12/22/25), within approximately five days, the vehicle displayed an “Engine Power Limited” warning message and a malfunction indicator light (MIL). When this occurred, the vehicle’s power was significantly reduced, making it difficult to maintain speed and creating a potentially dangerous condition, especially during highway driving or merging into traffic. This issue poses a serious safety risk because sudden loss of engine power can increase the risk of collision. The problem appears to be intermittent but recurring, and it has not been properly diagnosed or corrected by the dealership despite repeated opportunities. The vehicle has roughly 8500 miles on it in the first year. We have experienced multiple engine misfires due to bad ignition coils on cylinders 3 & 4. The first incident was in July 2025, and the second was in November 2025. The first incident was on the freeway, going 75mph, and the second was on a city road, going 35mph. The first incident, I brought the vehicle to the dealership, and they replaced the coil, cleaned the cylinder, and covered everything under warranty. The dealership told me this is common and Hyundai will not replace the remaining coils until they misfire, even though the dealership knows the coils do not perform well in colder weather. I called corporate regarding this issue, and they confirmed that they will not replace the remaining coils, although a mechanic at a dealership they work with has already confirmed they regularly misfire. The Hyundai call center refuses to reach out to the dealership to confirm, will not provide written documentation, and will not provide me with more solutions for their defective vehicle. I asked them if they could provide me with written confirmation that the vehicle was safe, but they could not.

The issue my car is having happens when the car is but I am at a complete stop and the auto on/off stop engages. I start again and turn the wheel all the way to the left and begin to drive. The wheel locks, then violently snaps back. In some instances it will set off the sensors and disengage the vehicle while I’m pulled out into traffic. I have brought this to the dealerships attention as well as corporate Hyundai. I was told they were able to recreate the problem and it is standard operating procedure. I was given a loaner vehicle and it did not perform this way and so I am doubtful but have also heard may others complain of the same issue.

I was driving slowly, about 5 mph, and was pulling over on a residential street to park on the street, and my Hyundai started shaking…the steering wheel and car were shaking and the brakes weren’t working. My wife was driving the vehicle and the dash lit up like a Christmas tree. Every fault and every light came on including the steering tightened up like there was no power steering. ABS kicks in with even the slightest bump. Had an incident a couple weeks ago where I went over a bump while leaving a store and the car almost did not stop before hitting oncoming traffic. Have had issues for 10 months with the car not accelerating properly or shifting properly. Have tried to drive in every mode (smart, sport, comfort) and nothing makes it better. I have had the vehicle to the shop 3 times. First 2 times said no problem. The third time stated my rear seal is leaking and transmission is leaking as well as 4x4 coupler needs replaced. I feel unsafe to drive in this vehicle with me and my children.

After 45 days of purchasing the SUV I notice the front grille was checking and flaking. Report it to the dealership and Hyundai. They said it was caused by "out influence". So they didn't cover it. After several attempts back and forth with dealership they finally agreed to cover the replacement front grille. This is an on going issue with these grilles. The new grille is starting to do the same thing. Many Hyundai palisade customers on the forums are talking about this issue!

I purchased the 2025 CPO Palisade Calligraphy in April 9, 2025. Two weeks after I purchased it, I started noticing abnormal scratches and chips in the windshield. I had not driven behind a vehicle that threw rocks, I was not a beach for sand to scratch, nor had my vehicle been exposed to a creature that could have scratched the windshield. I reached out to my sales person and he said he'd connect back with me. That never happened. A couple months later, after getting my car detailed, I noticed many more scratches and dozens of chips. I reached back out to the dealer and my salesperson had left. I connected with a manager, as the chipping and scratching was causing a safety issue as I was focusing on it while driving and the way the sun would hit it caused awful glares. After speaking with a manager and then general sales manager, they agreed to replace the windshield. It was not until after this situation and my moonroof randomly exploding that I realized there were a number of windshield complaints on Hyundai's, specifically Palisades. While most reports are from 2020, I wanted to report to NTHSB that the issue is still happening.
My windshield appears to be extremely prone to rock chips and cracks. My vehicle is available for inspection. My Hyundai is only a year old and has several rock chips and a large crack in the windshield. This is now beginning to affect the visibility through my windshield. The problem has not been reported to the dealer but it will be on my next service appointment. Im pretty confident that the dealer will tell me to contact my insurance. The problem has not been reported to anyone at this time. My other vehicles do not have this problem and they are a lot older than my Hyundai.
We have had two chips in the windshield in approximately 7 months of ownership, which have resulted in spiderweb type cracks in the windshield. One of the cracks is in the field of view for the driver which creates an impairment/distraction. I believe that the windshield may be defective based on the numerous reports of this issue that I have researched on the internet.

I have 25 Palisade calligraphy and from the last two months I almost went 7-8 times to the dealership because of the ABS issue. When going over rougher road, railroad tracks, and also uneven surfaces brake is not working at that time. It is an issue that only happens under very specific conditions like slow speeds (under 10 mph), uneven surface (gravel, railroad tracks, speed bumps, driveway entry). Acts like ABS is activated but it the car isn't acknowledging that it is. I work in Manhattan and that is very crowdy place and at that time my car brake is not working, I almost hit the crowd because my car is not stopping at the stop line, it is very serious issue, please consider it and take this feedback.

Upon returning home on 7/20/2025, I smelled a strong odor of gasoline. I looked under the car and saw that gas was leaking from a small hole on the (R) rear side of the tank. The hole was an approximately 1/16" . Due to danger of flammable fuel vapor and leaking gas I parked away from the house and put a temporary plug to stop the leak. I was shocked to find that the fuel tank was unshielded and made of thin walled plastic. There no warning indicators given prior to this incident. The vehicle has 12383 miles on it. Cause of the leak is unknown, possibly a poor mold casting of the tank.
XXX - approx 9:00pm - departed Copper and Sage restaurant enroute to the WigWam. After about 1/2 mile at 30-35mph, I slowed down to make a right turn. After completing the turn I pressed the accelerator to continue and the Palisade had absolutely no power. I pressed the pedal to the floor with no success. I was finally forced to pull over and stop the vehicle and place it in park. After doing so, the Palisade was able to return to operation with the pedal and for fear of another incident we drove home. 2nd Incident - 2 Mar 2026 - approx 1200pm. We were traveling west on XXX from [XXX] to [XXX] and began the ascent through the mountains going west towards XXX. After experiencing a steady grade upward approximately 6-7% at speed of 55-60mph, I used the hand shift paddle to downshift one gear to assist in the upward climb. Upon doing so, the Palisade once again died with no power at all. I pushed the accelerator pedal to the floor with no success of power. This incident could have been devastating as we were in the far left lane with many other vehicles behind us. I had no place to pull over to the left so I began to make my way to the right shoulder over 3 lanes very slowly under only previous velocity motion. We narrowly avoided being hit from behind numerous times and finally made it over to the right shoulder. After finally stopping the Palisade, I put the vehicle in park and it returned to operation with the pedal once again. We then carefully pulled out off the shoulder and the Palisade operated normally until we arrived at our destination. Occasionally, the car's RPMs fluctuate wildly, and the engine stalls; the surges in RPM lead to sudden, abrupt acceleration, which poses a safety risk to me and my family. The dealership has been unable to resolve the problem.
I am reporting a serious safety issue involving my 2025 Hyundai Palisade. The vehicle has repeatedly produced white smoke during cold start and has experienced loss of engine power while driving. Despite multiple repair visits (six times) to an authorized Hyundai dealership, the dealer repeatedly stated that the condition could not be reproduced and no repairs were performed. I provided video evidence of the white smoke and described the symptoms in writing at each visit. Shortly after the most recent service visit(12/22/25), within approximately five days, the vehicle displayed an “Engine Power Limited” warning message and a malfunction indicator light (MIL). When this occurred, the vehicle’s power was significantly reduced, making it difficult to maintain speed and creating a potentially dangerous condition, especially during highway driving or merging into traffic. This issue poses a serious safety risk because sudden loss of engine power can increase the risk of collision. The problem appears to be intermittent but recurring, and it has not been properly diagnosed or corrected by the dealership despite repeated opportunities. The vehicle has not been repaired for this condition, and the defect remains unresolved. The condition may be available for inspection upon request, and diagnostic data such as warning messages and onboard fault codes should be present in the vehicle’s system. The failure began with white smoke during cold start and later escalated to engine power limitation and warning lights.
I smell gasoline through the AC vent at every stop when I drive the car locally at low speed (under 50 mph) after the car has been parked overnight. The smell eventually goes away after driving a while, but it comes back the next day when the car has been parked overnight. I feel like the smell is worse as the fuel tank gets lower. The vehicle’s forward collision warning / rear cross-traffic warning system is falsely detecting obstacles while I am driving down a normal residential driveway. The driveway has a gentle slope overall, with a slightly sharper angle right at the point where it meets the street. As I begin to move down the driveway—both in Drive and Reverse—the vehicle emits warning beeps and then suddenly and aggressively applies the brakes on its own, even though the path is completely clear. The braking is abrupt and forceful, and the system appears to misinterpret the brief angle change at the curbline as an obstacle. The vehicle is available for inspection upon request. This malfunction puts my safety and the safety of others at risk because the unexpected hard stop could cause a collision or loss of control. More importantly, if the system behaves this way on a simple residential driveway, it could be extremely hazardous on public roads that have larger hills, dips, or transitions. Sudden automatic braking on a main roadway or at higher speeds could lead to a serious crash. The problem has occurred repeatedly and consistently at the same driveway since I began driving the vehicle. It happens nearly every time. I took the vehicle to Speck Hyundai in Kennewick, WA, but the dealer was unable to reproduce the issue during their inspection. I have video evidence clearly showing the warning beeps and the vehicle braking on its own.
A dangerous and unpredictable braking issue has plagued my brand-new SUV (under 5,000 miles). On multiple occasions, the brakes have engaged suddenly and without warning while driving, causing the vehicle to stop abruptly in the middle of the road. This creates a hazardous situation with the potential for rear-end collisions, putting my family at risk and causing back pain to my passengers. The same problem also occurs when parking. The dealership requires a five-day service appointment, but the lack of any pre-warning lamps or indicators makes this issue especially concerning.
When driving on uneven bumpy roads, I find my ABS gives a collision warning and engages the brakes. I’ve almost crashed once already and I don’t know what to do. Also when parking in tight spots, the ABS turns on due to collision warning and instantly activates the brakes, causing me to almost hit the cars in front or behind me.
When exiting a paking lot, the Vechile did not Warn/Detect or di not Stop, while there was a 2 feet rock in the front of the bumper, whcih is 2 feet by 2 feet. The big rock hit exactly between the 2 sesonrs and no waring or didnt stop the vechile from colliding which damged the whole front bumper. I had my 2 kids and wife in the vechile, the only concern, I have is my wife drives the vechile all time, if it did not detect/warn/stop before hitting a big rock, what is the garentee it will save us from any major accidents. I took to the delar ship, havent got an appoitment for 2 weeks just to look at the sensors and they say to call Hundai Coustomr service and after 2 weeks of taking to Hundai customer service they are asking me to deal with the delaer ship. and they are pointing to each other while I get no response. and all they say is there is No way to pull the sensor information prior to tha accident.

LKA forces vehicle to a left or right side of lane position and continuously provides steering input resisting driver in maintaining center of lane position. Condition has existed from day of dealer delivery.

This can be very dangerous on a freeway when passing big wide trucks. If you use the cruise control this feature automatically turns itself on. . How was your safety or the safety of others put at risk? ------ When the lane assist is turned on the car drives close to the left line and not on the center of the road and this could be very dangerous when passing large wide vehicles or those with wide trailers. Has the problem been reproduced or confirmed by a dealer or independent service center? ------------ Yes. I took it to the dealer and they said that's how the car was designed and there is nothing they can do. They asked me to contact the Hyundai Customer Affairs. I opened a case number with Hyundai Customer Affairs. They said that if the dealer did not find a problem then there is nothing they can do. I am stuck with the problem. Has the vehicle or component been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others? ------------------- See above. When I googled to see if other people are complaining about the issue, I found out that there are other people complaining but no formal complaint has been put forward. Were there any warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure, and when did they first appear? ------------ The issue has existed from the dealer. There are no warnings or anything
When using lane assist the vehicle is pulled into other lanes, including into oncoming traffic. This happens even when the vehicle is centered in the lane. This is extremely dangerous because it can cause an accident. When using cruise control, the lane assist comes on automatically which is extremely dangerous because the vehicle is going at high speeds on the highway. The dealership is aware of the situation. Both the mechanic and the salesman have driven the vehicle with me and experienced the problem. Additionally, the salesman and I drove another 2025 palisade and the lane assist problem was present in that vehicle also.
The Lane Guidance and Lane assist malfunctions / failures numerous times at highway speeds. The vehicle tried to forcibly steer me into the next lane for no reason. Typically a vehicle is approaching from the rear and the acting by the Palisade would have caused a serious accident. This has been documented numerous time since November 25, 2024. The steering places excessive force on the steering which is very traumatic on the highway driving at posted speeds. In the event my wife was driving the 2025 Palisade, she wouldn't have been able to keep the vehicle centered in the lane, due to the forces on the steering wheel. This has occurred numerous times over the past 8 months. No real help from Hyundai Corporate Cust Serv, since Dec 2024. Claim 40091189 While going down a 4 lane road, Babcock Road, Palm Bay FL, the at around 40 mph the vehicle immediately reduced my speed to 20 mph. This nearly caused a major accident. There was no reason for the drop in speed so abruptly. I had not touched any controls, cruise control was not on, there wasn't a school zone. Something caused the vehicle to reach that way immediately. By pushing on the gas pedal did nothing. It remained at around 20 mph till I was able to turn off into a parking lot and the engine turned off. There are numerous intermittent problems with this 2025 Palisade that need to be addressed be for the vehicle causes a major accident and lives lost. The vehicle has been back to dealerships 6 times and no real troubleshooting took place. I was driving my 2025 Hyundai Palisade Night Edition on a rural highway at 55mph 245/50R20 102V when I heard a boom. The right front tire sidewall had blown out in 2 spots. I put the spare on and redrove the section where the tire blew out and the highway had no potholes or debris that would have caused any issue.

I am reporting a safety-related defect with a 2025 Hyundai Palisade SEL. Within days of purchase (December 14, 2024), I began experiencing abnormal noise and vibration from the rear of the vehicle. The issue consistently occurs at highway speeds (45–55 mph) and over bumps. The problem has been present since the first week of ownership and has worsened over time. Multiple inspections confirmed the issue: •Selling dealership dismissed it as “normal tire noise” without proper diagnosis •Second Hyundai dealership confirmed severe abnormal wear (cupping) on all four tires •Independent inspection (Firestone) confirmed uneven tire wear, alignment out of specification, and ongoing vibration Despite early reporting, Hyundai Motor America has refused to provide a root cause diagnosis or take responsibility. They denied tire replacement, attributing the issue to tire wear. This explanation is not valid. This vehicle on multiple occasions per week will have what my husband can only describe as the ABS incorrectly kick on. It happens in our driveway, rocky parking lots or streets that aren’t even. The vehicle shakes uncontrollably and the brakes can not be pressed when it happens. In the worst situation we ended up over a curb, luckily the curb seemed to help stop us before potentially hitting a post office. No lights come up on the dashboard and it isn’t easy to replicate as it happens randomly - usually at lower speeds - when coming into a stop. Our safety is put at risk every time we drive, not knowing if the issue will happen; and not being able to brake or remedy the issue. This is not a one time incident - this happens multiple times a week.
My 25 Pallisade front end/front wheels shake violently when braking and hitting a bump at the same time. It shakes so hard my steering wheel shakes also. It can happen when braking hard, soft, small bump, big bump, it doesn’t seem to matter. It is brand new and I took it into the dealership when there was about 1500 miles on it. They didn’t find anything wrong.
