A hybrid control processor (HCP) software error may cause the defrosting and defogging system to be inoperative. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 103, "Windshield Defrosting and Defogging Systems."

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2023-2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee and Jeep Grand Cherokee L vehicles. When the master headlight switch is set to the AUTO position, the driver may be unable to quickly activate the high beams. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 108, "Lamps, Reflective Devices, and Associated Equipment."
The danger: High beam headlights that do not activate as intended can reduce visibility, increasing the risk of a crash.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles. An improperly machined steering knuckle may separate between the ball joint and knuckle, causing the wheel to fall outward and resulting in a loss of control.

The child seat tether welds on the second-row seat back frame may be insufficient, which can reduce the seat's ability to properly restrain a child during a crash. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard number 225, "Child Restraint Anchorage Systems."
The danger: A child that is not properly restrained during a crash can have an increased risk of injury.

The radiator crossmember bolts may not be properly secured, which can lead to improper air bag deployments and a fuel leak during a crash. What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2020-2025 Jeep Wrangler 4Xe and 2022-2026 Grand Cherokee 4Xe vehicles. The high voltage battery may fail internally and lead to a vehicle fire while parked or driving.
The danger: A vehicle fire can increase the risk of injury.
The fix: Owners are advised to park outside and away from structures and not to charge their vehicles until the remedy is completed. Dealers will update the high voltage battery software, and replace the high voltage battery, as necessary, free of charge. Some owner notification letters were mailed beginning December 17, 2025. THERE IS a safety recall on vehicle that Manufacturer Safety recall issued. there is no remedy. while reading all of the safety issues that come with this. this is not a great way to feel as you drive with fear vehicle may stop operating while you are driving and can cause an accident.
Not being able to park inside due to potential FIRE, messages of electric mode inoperable, emergency pedestrian ranking, going from park to auto shift it loud/clunky. Infotainment sometimes takes a while to load or recognize apple car play. Main concern would of course be fire potential and not charging it. Which defeats whole purpose of leasing it to see how it does. No other problems except for the ones we all have had with 4Xe models.
Electrical system (Hy-bird System). Yes it's available for inspection. Yes my safety was at risk. Yes Yes No warning lamps, messages or other symptoms of the problem prior to the failure. After the first recall was completed.
After the 68C recall software update upon getting my Jeep back I can no longer drive in the electric mode without the Jeep surging into and out of the gas mode at slow speeds or fast speeds. My jeep does hesitate or bogs down prior to engaging the gas mode.
06/13/2026: THIRD EPISODE of 2024 Jeep GC Summit (Top of Line) Battery being COMPLETELY DEAD after 3-4 days of no driving. I bought my Jeep in 12/2025!? Another issue that others report is the DIFFICULTY of 'jumping' the battery/engine to give a start. We tried multiple times on the evening of 06/13 to no avail. On Sunday, 06/14, we REVVED the jumper engine to ....7000 or 8000 rpms (on the tachometer) before getting enough power to successfully jump the Jeep. THIS New Vehicle "Dead Electric" is very scary on how it could strand us!!

I have a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I purchased July 19, 2024.I started having operational problems with the vehicle within two months. The car was in and out of the dealership five times through Nov. 2025. Each time the problem was verified by the service department and documented as such, including an incident of the engine shutting down when entering the expressway. I filed a lemon law claim September 2025, and settled December 2025. However, no reimbursement has been received. On Feb. 15, 2026, my car shut down completely as I was exiting a belt driven car wash, resulting in crashes of two vehicles in back of me. I had no control of shifting gears to move forward.
Vehicle is an active fire hazard subject to the high-voltage battery recall (NHTSA 24V-718). The manufacturer's safety instructions require me to stop charging the vehicle and park it away from homes and structures. Because I am currently leasing this vehicle from Chrysler Capital and have no alternate transportation, I am forced to drive an active fire risk for daily transit. The local Jeep dealership has refused to provide a temporary loaner vehicle or rental accommodation while a final remedy is pending. The lack of a timely repair, combined with the refusal of the manufacturer to provide safe, alternative transit, forces me to operate a defective vehicle that poses an immediate safety risk to myself, my family, and the general public.

On 11/1/2025 my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe lost propulsion in a middle of a left turn do to a recall that was sent to me 4 days prior. The jeep completely stopped and caused another person to rear end me. The recall has since been fixed but my damages have not yet been fixed. I was in an accident due to this Jeep recall and I now have damage to my vehicle and a ticket from the police for stopping in the middle of an intersection. I opened a case with jeep customer care 2 weeks ago and haven’t since received ANY update. I need assistance because nobody is taking accountability or fixing anything.
Continuously losing power while driving. It almost feels like a drop in power and a tug backwards. It’s not the same as regenerative breaking as I am familiar with that concept. Yesterday it responded differently. Instead of losing power there was a burst of power which almost caused me to crash into the vehicle in front of me. Lastly for the last 6 months my car fuel gauge doesn’t work correctly. It gets stuck at half and doesn’t register the gasoline put in til miles later. This has caused me to run out or gas 3 times, something that never happened in my other vehicles.
This vehicle has experienced repeated mechanical and electronic failures since delivery, including hybrid drivetrain faults, heating system malfunctions, and multiple diagnostic repair attempts. The vehicle is also subject to active Safety Recall 78C, which identifies a manufacturing defect that may cause catastrophic engine failure and vehicle fire risk. The manufacturer has acknowledged that a repair remedy is currently unavailable. The dealership that sold and serviced the vehicle has also recently ceased operations following acquisition by Carvana. These conditions materially impair the vehicle’s safety, reliability, and usability.
Hello, I am reaching out regarding a serious safety issue involving my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe under an active recall (78C), which Stellantis has acknowledged can cause an engine fire or sudden loss of vehicle function. Despite the severity of this recall, there is currently no remedy available. I have contacted Stellantis corporate multiple times and have been met with consistently poor customer service, including being told I am not allowed to open another case because my issue is “irrelevant” due to it involving a recall. I am leasing a vehicle that is not safe to drive, with a known fire risk and no repair solution. I have formally requested that Stellantis buy back the vehicle without penalty given the safety risk and inability to use the vehicle as intended. They have refused to accept the vehicle back or offer any meaningful resolution. This raises serious concerns about consumer safety and corporate accountability—particularly when a manufacturer acknowledges a defect but refuses to take responsibility for removing unsafe vehicles from the road.
Vehicle is a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe (PHEV) subject to Safety Recall 78C (25V-766), issued November 2025. The recall states the engine may be contaminated with sand from the casting process, which can cause catastrophic engine failure, vehicle fire, and unexpected unrecoverable loss of propulsion. No remedy has been developed or made available by the manufacturer as of April 2026 — more than five months after the recall was issued. The manufacturer has confirmed in writing that an active stop-sale and stop-production order is in effect on all affected 4xe models due to this unresolved defect. Despite this, the manufacturer has simultaneously deemed the vehicle "operable" and denied a buyback request, requiring the consumer to remain in possession of a vehicle that cannot legally be sold due to its unresolved safety status. The manufacturer's written target window for the remedy was February–March 2026. That window has passed with no repair available and no updated timeline provided. The consumer has been without full use of the vehicle since January 2026 and has been paying out of pocket for rental transportation. The defect has not been confirmed by a dealer because no remedy exists for dealers to perform. No crash, fire, or injury has occurred, but the consumer has chosen not to operate the vehicle due to the known fire and catastrophic failure risk documented in the recall notice itself.

Went to turn right car kept pushing straight and steering wheel locked up. Also, no airbags were deployed
On XXX, at approximately 8:45 AM in [XXX], my wife was driving our 2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe. She was stopped at a red traffic light and, when the light turned green, proceeded to make a normal left turn through the intersection. While approximately halfway through the intersection, the vehicle unexpectedly displayed a forward collision warning ("BRAKE!") and aggressively applied the Automatic Emergency Braking system. The weather was clear and sunny, and there was no apparent vehicle, pedestrian, obstacle, or other hazard in the Jeep's path that would have justified an emergency braking intervention. The unexpected braking caused the Jeep to decelerate abruptly in the middle of the intersection. As a result, a truck traveling behind the Jeep, at an estimated speed of approximately 10 mph, rear-ended the vehicle. A second vehicle then rear-ended the truck, resulting in a multi-vehicle collision. A police report was filed, and my wife was determined not to be at fault for the accident. We are submitting this report because we are concerned that the unexpected activation of the Automatic Emergency Braking system may represent a serious safety issue that could endanger vehicle occupants and other motorists and should be investigated. On 11 October 2025, I was driving on the Interstate when an error message appeared in the cluster "Active Lane Management (ALM) Unavailable Service Required". The Lane Assistance turned OFF and could not be turned back ON until vehicle was restarted. I called the dealership and requested an appointment. They stated that unless they could repeat the issue, an appointment would be useless. The ALM error message disappeared on restart of the vehicle. On 02 January 2026, I started the vehicle when an error message appeared in the cluster "Auto Emergency Break (AEB) Limited Functionality Service Required". The Lane Assistance turned OFF but could be turned back ON. The vehicle visited the dealership on 13 February 2026 and the AEB error was repeated numerous times on start by dealership personnel. On Monday, 23 February 2026, vehicle was left at dealership for 10 days. They performed numerous software updates and returned vehicle to me on 05 March 2026. On 09 March 2026, AEB Error message appeared in cluster. Took vehicle immediately to dealership and they refused to take it back in for service. They stated Jeep had no idea how to resolve and I had to wait on a solution. AEB message happened again on 14 March 2026, 31 March 2026, 01 April 2026, 05 May 2026, 08 May 2026, 21 May 2026. On 05 May 2026, the AEB error and ALM error appeared on the same day. I drove the vehicle to the dealership and they retrieved error code U045D. Dealership finally agreed to take vehicle back in for service on Monday, 25 May 2026 which is where is still sitting today, 05 Jun 2026. Initially, dealership stated Jeep had release another software update but then 24 hours later they stated they had ordered a new cluster. The new cluster was cancelled by Jeep so they ordered it again. Dealership stated they are waiting on a new cluster to arrive. I have no idea if AEB system works or not which to me is a major safety issue. Also, how can I trust this vehicle ever again!
On 5/11/26 at approximately 7:40pm, I was driving a leased 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee in [XXX] , turning left at the busy intersection of [XXX] and [XXX] . I was in the outside lane of a double left-turn lane with a green left-turn arrow, while opposing traffic was also moving through the intersection in its own turn movement. In the center of the intersection, the vehicle suddenly activated Forward Collision Warning and then Auto Emergency Braking without warning, even though I was lawfully proceeding through the turn. The vehicle stopped abruptly and forcefully in the middle of the intersection, leaving my car stranded in active traffic. I braced for a rear-end collision, which surprisingly did not occur as there must not have been another car behind me After the sudden stop, I was unable to shift the vehicle back into Drive for several seconds. By the time I was able to move the car again, the light had turned red and other lanes of traffic were beginning to proceed. This created an immediate risk of a serious collision from cross traffic or vehicles approaching from behind. The force of the unexpected stop was strong enough to cause neck pain. By chance, no other vehicle struck my car, but this was a near-miss event with clear potential for severe injury or death. I no longer feel safe driving this vehicle. In addition, this vehicle has had multiple recalls and other issues, which heightens my concern that this may be part of a broader safety defect involving the Forward Collision Warning, Auto Emergency Braking, or related electronic control systems. I am requesting that NHTSA investigate whether the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee can falsely detect a collision risk during a lawful left turn and improperly engage automatic braking or otherwise prevent the driver from promptly returning the vehicle to Drive. I have a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that I purchased July 19, 2024.I started having operational problems with the vehicle within two months. The car was in and out of the dealership five times through Nov. 2025. Each time the problem was verified by the service department and documented as such, including an incident of the engine shutting down when entering the expressway. I filed a lemon law claim September 2025, and settled December 2025. However, no reimbursement has been received. On Feb. 15, 2026, my car shut down completely as I was exiting a belt driven car wash, resulting in crashes of two vehicles in back of me. I had no control of shifting gears to move forward.
On 11/1/2025 my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe lost propulsion in a middle of a left turn do to a recall that was sent to me 4 days prior. The jeep completely stopped and caused another person to rear end me. The recall has since been fixed but my damages have not yet been fixed. I was in an accident due to this Jeep recall and I now have damage to my vehicle and a ticket from the police for stopping in the middle of an intersection. I am filing a safety complaint regarding serious and recurring issues with my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that create unsafe driving conditions. Shortly after purchasing the vehicle, I began experiencing intermittent electrical malfunctions while driving. Without warning, multiple dashboard warning lights and signals activate simultaneously. During these events, I lose confidence in the vehicle’s reliability and safety, as it is unclear whether critical systems are affected. On at least one occasion, the issue forced me to pull over to the side of the road due to safety concerns. The vehicle would not return to normal operation immediately, and I had to repeatedly turn the vehicle off and on for approximately 20 minutes before it reset. In addition, the check engine light has been on for a significant portion of the time since I purchased the vehicle. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership multiple times, but the issue has not been permanently resolved. I am also concerned about multiple safety recalls affecting this vehicle. Some of these recalls currently have no available remedy, which increases the risk and leaves me driving a vehicle that may have known safety defects without a fix. These ongoing issues pose a serious safety risk to me and others on the road. I am requesting that this matter be investigated, and that appropriate action be taken to address these defects. Is it possible to switch to another safe Jeep model?
The factory-installed Trailer Tow module in my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee keeps shutting down the lights in my horse trailer while on the road. The trailer lights been thoroughly inspected and no problem with the lights or wiring could be found. The Jeep dealer said the Jeep is "functioning as designed." Apparently, it is designed to shut down all the trailer lights at the most minor change in the current. It is a huge safety issue for me, my horse and anyone that may be behind us. I will be driving along and a "check trailer lights" message comes on - when that happens, I know I have no trailer lights because the Jeep has shut them down. The lights will not go back on until the car reboots, which means it has to be turned off for 15 minutes or so.
I am writing to outline my urgent concerns regarding the 78C recall affecting the 2023–2025 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe and 2024–2025 Wrangler 4xe SUVs. This recall was initiated due to a manufacturing defect where casting sand remains in the 2.0L engine, presenting a risk of catastrophic engine failure, sudden power loss, or fire. The potential for engine fire or unexpected power loss represents a significant safety risk to my family. The possibility of fire, even when the vehicle is parked and not in use, puts my home and neighboring properties in danger. This risk is especially heightened during Colorado’s wildfire season, when any vehicle fire could quickly escalate into a larger disaster. Due to the recall, I am unable to use the vehicle as intended under the terms of my lease agreement. I cannot safely operate or charge the vehicle. Furthermore, the requirement to park the vehicle outside does not eliminate the risk of fire, which continues to threaten my property and those nearby. There is currently no available repair or remedy for this defect. As a result, the vehicle is unusable for an indefinite period of time. Given the unresolved safety hazards, inability to use the vehicle, and lack of a repair solution, I formally request that you initiate a buy back of my affected vehicle. Vehicle is an active fire hazard subject to the high-voltage battery recall (NHTSA 24V-718). The manufacturer's safety instructions require me to stop charging the vehicle and park it away from homes and structures. Because I am currently leasing this vehicle from Chrysler Capital and have no alternate transportation, I am forced to drive an active fire risk for daily transit. The local Jeep dealership has refused to provide a temporary loaner vehicle or rental accommodation while a final remedy is pending. The lack of a timely repair, combined with the refusal of the manufacturer to provide safe, alternative transit, forces me to operate a defective vehicle that poses an immediate safety risk to myself, my family, and the general public.
After the 68C recall software update upon getting my Jeep back I can no longer drive in the electric mode without the Jeep surging into and out of the gas mode at slow speeds or fast speeds. My jeep does hesitate or bogs down prior to engaging the gas mode.
After recall 68c was completed the electric only power is way down. They did not fix the battery, they just reduced performance to try and minimize the risk and save them from replacing the defective part. This is not a fix but a fundamental change in the cars functionality as bought and is not acceptable.

When slowing down to park vehicle, there was a sudden surge forward on 3 separate occasions. The first in June 2025 caused me to go over a mound of dirt and into wooded area before stopping. This cost my insurance $7200. to fix. Then again it happened with my husband driving. Again, on 8-27-25. Both times we were able to slam on brakes to prevent hitting another vehicle or person.
The vehicle has now experienced two complete electronic system failures while driving at approximately 45 miles per hour. During both events, all dashboard warning lights illuminated, and I lost power steering and brake assist. The engine remained running during the failure, but vehicle control systems were disabled. The first repair was documented as a disconnected electrical component, but the same full failure has occurred again. I consider this a serious safety defect, and I do not feel safe operating the vehicle
While driving down the road on the highway, the hood randomly popped open, engaging the emergency breaking system extremely harshly. Then the vehicle was unable to shift back into gear. Reported problem to dealer and no codes shown for the incident. Jeep (FCA/Stelantis) potentially had the system like Volkswagen when it knows it took it up to the diagnostic system to not show codes were an injury or something serious could’ve happened. Warning indicator lights, and all kinds of indicators were going off in the vehicle at the time of incident, but not the very next day from the dealership plugged it into the system.
When on a hill with the electric being depleted under 8% the vehicles don’t know what to do for power an rolled back with no power forward even when attempting to accelerate causing potential collision with vehicle on the rear. Vehicle manufacturer refuses to service vehicle due to ongoing litigation and known problem.
I had just got in and started my Jeep and noticed the ABS light and Brake light was on, so I went straight to the dealer and the abs had an internal failure and has to be replaced.

When I push the turn signal stockforward to initiate the highbeams, the highbeam function does not work. The lever clicks into position as it should, but it does not initiate the high beam mode. It will work first thing in the morning when I start my car, but after three or four minutes, the highbeams disengage and goes back to low beam.When I use the flash-to-pass mode by pulling the lever toward me, the highbeams do work. The problem began about two weeks ago when driving home at night, I had no highbeams which was a safety issue. I have not taken my vehicle to the dealership for anyone to take a look at the issue yet. From what I’ve read it seems like it’s a problem with the multifunction switch in which other 2024 Jeep grand Cherokees had a recall. I don’t abuse my vehicle components. In fact, I’m probably extra careful to use them properly and I use them with ease. My car is still under warranty. Is this something that is typically covered under warranty? I cannot seem to find a recall for the matter. My Vin number returns zero recalls.
I am the owner of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee (WL) subject to Safety Recall 12B / NHTSA 24V-130, concerning high beam headlamps that fail to respond when the master lighting switch is set to the AUTO position. I contacted Flagship Chrysler to schedule the free recall repair. The dealer refused to perform the service, claiming my vehicle does not qualify because it lacks the Auto High Beam feature (sales code LMS). However, according to the official recall documentation, the recall applies specifically to vehicles WITHOUT the Auto High Beam Headlamps feature (sales code LMS). My vehicle does have the Auto Lights function but does not have Auto High Beam — which is precisely the condition described in the recall scope. The dealer appears to be confusing Auto Lights with Auto High Beam, and is incorrectly excluding my vehicle from a mandatory safety recall. This repair is required by Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) No. 108 S9.4, and I am being denied a free remedy I am legally entitled to. I am requesting NHTSA's assistance in ensuring the dealer complies with their legal obligation to perform this recall repair at no charge.
The rear turn signal on the 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee is very small. Following vehicles seem to have difficulty in seeing a signaled turn. This condition is exacerbated when driving into the sun. On several occasions, when attempting a left-hand turn and stopped for oncoming traffic, following vehicles have had to brake hard to avoid a rear end collision. This puts the occupants of both vehicles at risk for injury. It is unknown if this condition has been reported to the manufacturer. Because it is a design issue it is unlikely to be resolved by a dealer. The turn signal indicator in the instrument panel was functioning and a visual conformation of the functioning turn signal was made after the incident.

High beams only working when physically holding the handle down. Automatic high beams not working at all and won’t come on unless you turn off automatic high beams. We took it into Flow Jeep in Charlottesville today where they told us they had heard about this issue from others, but that Dodge Jeep had not found fix and continue to claim it works as it’s supposed to. That cannot be when you cannot get the high beams to come on without physically holding the paddle. They cut the automatic highbeams on, which now means I cannot get my highbeams to come on at all unless I physically hold the handle down. You cannot drive holding that down the entire time. The car is now not sensing when it’s evening time and changing the interior lighting, so it’s not as bright. I have to go in and physically change that. We live in the country. This is a huge safety risk. We need Jeep to fix this.

On 11 October 2025, I was driving on the Interstate when an error message appeared in the cluster "Active Lane Management (ALM) Unavailable Service Required". The Lane Assistance turned OFF and could not be turned back ON until vehicle was restarted. I called the dealership and requested an appointment. They stated that unless they could repeat the issue, an appointment would be useless. The ALM error message disappeared on restart of the vehicle. On 02 January 2026, I started the vehicle when an error message appeared in the cluster "Auto Emergency Break (AEB) Limited Functionality Service Required". The Lane Assistance turned OFF but could be turned back ON. The vehicle visited the dealership on 13 February 2026 and the AEB error was repeated numerous times on start by dealership personnel. On Monday, 23 February 2026, vehicle was left at dealership for 10 days. They performed numerous software updates and returned vehicle to me on 05 March 2026. On 09 March 2026, AEB Error message appeared in cluster. Took vehicle immediately to dealership and they refused to take it back in for service. They stated Jeep had no idea how to resolve and I had to wait on a solution. AEB message happened again on 14 March 2026, 31 March 2026, 01 April 2026, 05 May 2026, 08 May 2026, 21 May 2026. On 05 May 2026, the AEB error and ALM error appeared on the same day. I drove the vehicle to the dealership and they retrieved error code U045D. Dealership finally agreed to take vehicle back in for service on Monday, 25 May 2026 which is where is still sitting today, 05 Jun 2026. Initially, dealership stated Jeep had release another software update but then 24 hours later they stated they had ordered a new cluster. The new cluster was cancelled by Jeep so they ordered it again. Dealership stated they are waiting on a new cluster to arrive. I have no idea if AEB system works or not which to me is a major safety issue. Also, how can I trust this vehicle ever again!
The Active Lane Management (ALM) and Auto Emergency Braking (AEB) systems on this 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4xe fail repeatedly while the vehicle is in motion at highway speeds. The defect began at 384 miles. The ALM system will silently disable itself, and the AEB system forces the vehicle to display an 'AEB Limited Functionality Service Required' warning. Following six distinct repair attempts, the authorized servicing dealer (Eide Chrysler) stated in writing via text message on March 5, 2026, that this is a 'known issue' and that FCA engineering currently has 'no fix' available. The manufacturer has attempted to dismiss the ongoing hardware failure as a resolved hybrid battery software recall, but the collision avoidance systems remain actively defective. Because the steering overcorrection and sudden loss of emergency braking present an immediate crash risk, the vehicle is unsafe to operate.

The Active Lane Management (ALM) system shuts itself off which the displays a warning on the the instrument panel to indicate it has been disabled. If you try to turn it back on manually, it gives a warning that the system is unavailable and service is required. It will not allow you to manually turn the ALM system back on. I've taken it back to the dealership (9/7/25 repair ticket attached) where it was purchased but there were no computer codes shown to indicate what the problem was. They did an system update which did not fix the problem. Shutting off the engine and re-starting will clear this issue and you don't know when it may reappear (it could be the same day or possibly several weeks before it does it again). The service department has suggested I not shut off the engine but immediately bring it to them to see when this happens so they can run a scan for potential code(s) but they're an hour away and not always open when this occurs. My vehicle was purchased January, 2025 and has 10,300 miles on it now. I have a photo of the service required notification from September 4, 2025 showing mileage of 7,988 (attached). It had been doing this for approximately a month before I was able to get the photo. It continues to be an intermittent problem resulting in the loss of a safety feature of this vehicle.

While driving in the Los Angelas area on March 24, 2025, on the 210 Freeway approaching the 605 Freeway the vehicle abruptly decelerated from 65mph to 45mph. A message appeared instructing "continue to your destination, do not turn off your engine, if you turn off your engine you may not be able to start it again." We contacted Jeep Connected who directed us to Cerritos CDJR. As we were heading south on the 605 Freeway the vehicle again abruptly decelerated to 28mph. This placed us in a dangerous safety situation as we were at the height of the afternoon traffic. The Service Advisor was able to determine that the Valve Body(VB) and Transmission Control Module(TCM) had failed. Also, both batteries were fully drained of their charge. The mileage was 4095. The comment was that the batteries contributed to the VB/TCM failure. We have continued to experience battery degradation with five (5) batteries having been replaced within the first year of ownership. We continue to identify battery degradation to the dealership but have received no correction to this defect. Over the past four (4) months we have documented "resting" battery voltage at a level where they are at or below 50% of their expected lifetime. While it is suggested that parasitic drain is the cause, we continually ensure that lights, radio, heating and air-conditioning and Jeep Connected are turned off when parked. I have documented to the Utah Division of Consumer Protection and NCDS these conditions. The ruling from NCDS is: DENIED. "I have reached this conclusion for the following reason: the customer did prove by shop work orders a Manufacturer defect does exist with the batteries discharging, which has affected the use and safety of the vehicle. However, there has only been three repair attempts with replacing batteries which is not considered unreasonable in my opinion." With the recognition by an Arbitrator that a manufacture defect exists which affects safety, it cannot be limited to my vehicle.

The contact who is a State Trooper reported that the driver of a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee was fatally injured when a second vehicle crashed into the rear of the vehicle. A witness reported that the vehicle had stopped in the left eastbound lane on [XXX] when a second vehicle traveling approximately 70 MPH crashed into the rear of the vehicle. During the crash, the driver was partially ejected from the closed sunroof. The driver was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the second vehicle was transported to the hospital with multiple fractures. No further information was available. The contact indicated that medical personnel removed the deceased driver from thru the sunroof of the vehicle and no doors had opened during the crash. While investigating the crash the contact reported that the steering wheel had separated from the steering column and was located near the rear seat area. Also, there were no visual signs of damage to the steering column or any sheered-off bolts from the steering column present. The contact indicated that an eye witness also indicated that the vehicle was driving erratically prior to stopping. The vehicle was later towed away. The cause of the incident was not determined. The manufacturer and local dealer were not yet contacted. The failure mileage was unknown.

Sudden loss of power steering. After starting car, Codes came up immediately for backup sensor needing service, then loss of power steering needing service, check engine light and flashing mileage on dashboard. Currently at dealership waiting for assessment.
We have an unknown problem with a clunking/creaking noise while driving the vehicle we believe is coming from the front of the vehicle, possibly the suspension or steering. We are not sure we feel safe driving the vehicle since after taking it to the dealer three times in the past year, the dealer acknowledges the clunking but has not been able to identify and fix the issue. We have been told by the dealer it is safe to drive - but if they can't identify and fix the issue - how do they know that to be the case? Without being able to identify the cause of the noise and whatever resulting unusual wear and tear, will we have a catastrophic steering or suspension failure while driving the vehicle? Our 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe Trailhawk, (purchased new) has an "air" suspension - not sure if it's an option or standard on the Trailhawk models. We have had it in to the dealer three times for this issue - this last time the dealer had the truck for 16 plus weeks. The front stabilizer bar has been replaced multiple times, the upper and lower control arms have all been replaced, all four air shocks have been replaced, and a mounting bracket replaced. The dealer told us they opened a Star case with Jeep and the Jeep engineer has been on-site to examine the vehicle. After the engineer requested three different fixes that did not fix the problem, the dealer returned the vehicle and stated they are aware the issue persists and the Jeep engineering group is working on a resolution (even though they no longer have the vehicle in their possession to test solutions). They will notify us when a repair is available.

The contact related the failure to the NHTSA Campaign Number: 26V051000(SUSPENSION) however the VIN was not included in the recall. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and they informed him NHTSA adds VIN's to recalls . The failure mileage was 74,265.

I am writing to you regarding a persistent creaking noise in the front end of my vehicle when turning the wheel. I have brought the car in twice already for this issue, but the problem has not been identified or resolved. The vehicle is scheduled to come in again for the same issue. While I have been told it is not a safety concern, I am troubled that the source of the noise remains unknown. Without identifying the root cause, I am uncertain how it can be definitively determined that there is no safety risk. I would appreciate it if you could ensure a thorough investigation is conducted to pinpoint and resolve this creaking noise. But, it does not do it when it is warm out. It started around 25,000 miles and we had to wait until it was cooler outside when they could get it back in and really look at it without the outside tempurature affecting the noise.
We have an unknown problem with a clunking/creaking noise while driving the vehicle we believe is coming from the front of the vehicle, possibly the suspension or steering. We are not sure we feel safe driving the vehicle since after taking it to the dealer three times in the past year, the dealer acknowledges the clunking but has not been able to identify and fix the issue. We have been told by the dealer it is safe to drive - but if they can't identify and fix the issue - how do they know that to be the case? Without being able to identify the cause of the noise and whatever resulting unusual wear and tear, will we have a catastrophic steering or suspension failure while driving the vehicle? Our 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee 4Xe Trailhawk, (purchased new) has an "air" suspension - not sure if it's an option or standard on the Trailhawk models. We have had it in to the dealer three times for this issue - this last time the dealer had the truck for 16 plus weeks. The front stabilizer bar has been replaced multiple times, the upper and lower control arms have all been replaced, all four air shocks have been replaced, and a mounting bracket replaced. The dealer told us they opened a Star case with Jeep and the Jeep engineer has been on-site to examine the vehicle. After the engineer requested three different fixes that did not fix the problem, the dealer returned the vehicle and stated they are aware the issue persists and the Jeep engineering group is working on a resolution (even though they no longer have the vehicle in their possession to test solutions). They will notify us when a repair is available.

Involved in a motor vehicle accident front end damage with all airbags deployed. The passenger front seat dislodged during the accident, causing the passenger and the seat to be pressed up against the glove compartment leading to injury to passenger severe bruising and burns all up and down both legs lacerations to right ankle requiring the use of crutches.
I am submitting this complaint because my vehicle’s driver seat has a dangerous and unpredictable defect that creates an immediate safety hazard. While the vehicle is in motion, the driver’s seat will suddenly and randomly move forward without warning, pushing the driver into the steering wheel and crushing the leg and footwell area. This is not a minor adjustment issue—it is a sudden mechanical movement that physically forces the driver into an unsafe position while actively operating the vehicle. This has occurred at highway speeds and in heavy traffic, which makes the situation extremely alarming. When the seat unexpectedly moves forward, the driver is forced closer to the steering wheel, restricting movement and making it difficult to properly steer, brake, or maintain control of the vehicle. In those moments, the driver’s ability to safely operate the vehicle is compromised. The only way we have been able to stop the seat from continuing to move forward is to perform an emergency maneuver, pull the vehicle over, completely shut the vehicle off, and restart it in order to reset the system. Until the vehicle is fully turned off and restarted, the seat will not return to its normal position. The vehicle has been taken to the dealership twice after the check engine light came on. Each time, we were told the light was being triggered by the “comfort seat module.” However, despite the system indicating an issue with the comfort seat module, the dealership stated they could not find any problems with the seat or the module itself. This situation is extremely frightening and dangerous. A driver being physically forced forward into the steering wheel while traveling at highway speeds creates a serious risk of losing control of the vehicle. This defect puts not only the occupants of the vehicle at risk, but also other motorists and pedestrians sharing the roadway. The vehicle is a leased 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee that was taken out of service due to two manufacturer safety recalls. The dealership retained possession of the vehicle for approximately eight (8) days to complete recall-related repairs. During this period, the vehicle was not safe to operate and no loaner vehicle or alternate transportation was provided. The dealership instructed us to obtain a rental vehicle, stating verbally that it would be covered. Relying on this instruction, we incurred rental and transportation expenses. After returning the rental, we were forced to rely on other private transportation, including Uber, solely because the recalled vehicle remained unavailable. Despite the vehicle being disabled due to manufacturer safety recalls, the manufacturer has refused to fully reimburse these transportation costs. Throughout this period, we continued to pay our monthly lease payment in full and had no reasonable means of transportation. The vehicle has now been returned. This complaint is submitted to document the handling of safety recall repairs that resulted in extended loss of use, lack of alternate transportation, and out-of-pocket expenses borne by the consumer due to a manufacturer safety defect.

The contact then stated that she began to feel burns on her upper right thigh and immediately turned off the seat warmer. The contact stated that the burns were so severe that she went to urgent care for treatment. The contact was treated for burn blisters on her upper right thigh. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was instructed to take the vehicle to a dealer to have the seat inspected by a Chrysler investigator. The seat was torn apart and the investigator saw no signs that a breaker was tripped nor any evidence of burns on the heating coils. The vehicle was returned to the contact. While reversing on a snowy day the wheels proceeded to spin when the reverse sensors activated the brake system which resulted in damage to the rotor and breaks in the brake caliper resulting in tire failure and then suspension damage.

The contact stated that the failure prevented the driver from safely operating the vehicle. Due to the failure, the contact hit a cement flower pot, where it came to a stop. The driver-side and passenger-side air bags did not deploy. There were no injuries sustained. A police report was not filed. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The insurance company was not contacted. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 6,115.
The forward park usually works now it doesn’t and this is a 2024 jeep new from the dealer. Very unacceptable almost crash into another car bc the cluster will usually beep and show me how far I am when I get close and now i guess it just doesn’t do that anymore ? The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, and the wires were checked, and the dealer performed a factory reset. The contact stated that the failure persisted. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure, but the dealer stated the manufacture was working on a software update to be available by the end of February 2024. On 01/08/2026, while driving approximately 55 mph in Scottsdale, Arizona, the sunroof glass on my 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee suddenly fractured and shattered upward without any known external impact. Ambient temperature was approximately 40-45°F and cabin heat was set to approximately 80°F. There was no rock strike, chip, crater, or starburst impact point observed. The fracture appears to originate in the center of the sunroof panel. Vehicle mileage was approximately 21,924 miles at the time. No crash occurred, but the sudden glass failure created a safety hazard and driver distraction at highway speed and required immediate repair. The vehicle was inspected at Chapman Dodge Scottsdale (Repair Order 7444177). The area service representative denied warranty coverage and attributed it to “impact,” stating the glass can bow upward due to cabin pressure from HVAC, despite no identifiable impact point being documented. I am reporting this as a potential safety defect involving unexpected sunroof glass failure.
I am writing to inform you that I discovered a cracked windshield on my car yesterday after work. I had driven the car for lunch earlier in the day, and the windshield was not cracked at that time. I believe this may be a stress crack.
The high beam recall was performed at the dealer,and it did not repair the problem.this is a 2024 Jeep Grand Cherokee.The car was at the dealer a second time to try to repair it ,with no success.Now Jeep refuses to let the dealer work on it a THIRD time.This recall is for the high beams not operating when set to auto.Safety recall no.108 S9 4.Jeep is not honoring the warranty at the risk of my safety and in breach of contract.This car was worked on March 20,2024 and still no help from Jeep,NHTSA, FTC, or Attorney General.Nice work folks! When driving on any kind of roads the brake pedal has a vibration. I recently changed the tires and it helped a little but the vibration is still there. I want to get this resolved bc I’m afraid of driving sometimes. The vibration isn’t crazy but I don’t know what is causing it. I feel unsafe driving sometimes.

Speedometer does not function. We have no idea how fast or slow we are going at any given time. It shows random speeds. Fearful we could cause an accident by unknowingly driving too fast or too slow. The speedometer display indicates we are going 40+ mph while we are sitting absolutely still at stop lights & that we are traveling at a variety of speeds including 0 mph while keeping up with traffic on the interstate. Tachometer does not function. The rpm gauge fluctuates wildly while idling and while the vehicle is in motion. Gear Display does not function. We have no way of knowing what gear the vehicle is in or if it will remain stationary, move forward or backwards. Driving this vehicle or simply having the engine on, could very easily cause death or serious injury. Air bags & warning display do not function. The red alert on the instrument panel is constantly lit up indicating that the airbags will not function in the case of an accident. Engine gear display does not function. Display will randomly indicate vehicle is in reverse while we are very clearly driving forward. We have no way of knowing if the vehicle will suddenly change gears a result. Engine randomly turns off while in motion. The engine began randomly turning off while we were driving even after we picked it up from the dealership following the first attempt at repairs. There is absolutely no warning when it happens. We have no way of knowing when, where or at what speed the vehicle will be moving when the engine shuts off. This affects all steering, braking and electrical warning functions. Transmission overheating. Gives multiple alerts indicating that the transmission was running at too high a temperature and needed immediate service by the dealer. We have no way of knowing if the transmission will catch on fire. New Vehicle purchased 5/2. Malfunctioned immediately +returned for service 5/8. NO repair has been successful. Vehicle cannot be driven safely
