What is a recall, really?
A recall means the government made the manufacturer admit a safety defect — and the fix is free at any dealer, forever, even for used cars. What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Ram 1500 and 2014-2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. The crankshaft position sensor tone wheel may delaminate causing the engine to lose its ability to synchronize the fuel injector pulses and cam shaft timing, possibly resulting in an engine stall.
The danger: An engine stall can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: FCA US will notify owners, and dealers will update the powertrain control module software to maintain vehicle propulsion by reading the camshaft position signal in the event that the crankshaft position signal is lost, free of charge. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 13, 2021. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-2002. FCA US's number for this recall is W58.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2017 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks equipped with an 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. Chrysler is also recalling all 2013-2014 and 2018 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks built before April 1, 2018 with a 6 or 8 foot bed and a power locking tailgate. On August 29, 2019 Chrysler expanded the recall to include an additional 693,128 model year 2013-2014 Ram 1500, 2500 and 3500 pickup trucks. The tailgate actuator limiter tab may fracture and cause the tailgate to unlatch and open while driving.
The danger: If the tailgate opens while the vehicle is being driven, cargo may fall out the vehicle and create a road hazard, increasing the risk of crash.
The fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will repair the tailgate latch, free of charge. The recall began May 23, 2019. Chrysler is expected to notify owners of the expanded population on October 18, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US's number for this recall is V44. Note: 2015-2017 MY Ram 1500 pickup trucks with truck beds other than 8 foot, are currently covered under NHTSA recall 18V-486 for this issue.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Dodge Journey and RAM 1500, 2500, and 3500 vehicles. The backup camera may experience a loss of image display while backing up. As such, these vehicles fail to comply with the requirements of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard (FMVSS) number 111, "Rearview Mirrors."
The danger: A loss of image in the rearview camera while backing up can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rearview mirror, free of charge. The recall began August 2, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U56.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Dodge Charger, Durango and Challenger, Jeep Grand Cherokee and Wrangler, Chrysler 300, and RAM 1500 vehicles. An incorrect transmission park lock rod may have been installed in the transmission.
The danger: If the incorrect park lock rod is installed, the transmission may not shift into 'PARK' and keep the vehicle from moving, increasing the risk of unintended vehicle movement and the risk of a crash.
The fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will install the correct park lock rod, free of charge. The recall began June 28, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U43.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2018 Dodge Journey, Charger and Durango, RAM 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis (more than 10,000lb), 4500 Cab Chassis and 5500 Cab Chassis, Jeep Cherokee and Grand Cherokee and Chrysler 300, 2014-2019 RAM 1500, 2015-2018 Dodge Challenger, 2015-2017 Chrysler 200, 2016-2018 RAM 3500 Cab Chassis (less than 10,000 lb), 2017-2018 Chrysler Pacifica and 2018 Jeep Wrangler vehicles. These vehicles are being recalled to address a defect that could prevent the cruise control system from disengaging. If, when using cruise control, there is a short circuit within the vehicle's wiring, the driver may not be able to shut off the cruise control either by depressing the brake pedal or manually turning the system off once it has been engaged, resulting in either the vehicle maintaining its current speed or possibly accelerating.
The danger: If the vehicle maintains its speed or accelerates despite attempts to deactivate the cruise control, there would be an increased risk of a crash.
The fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the software, and perform a software flash on the engine or powertrain control module, free of charge. The recall began June 4, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Note: Owners are advised to stop using cruise control until the software update has been performed. In the event that cruise control cannot be disengaged while driving, owners should firmly and steadily apply the brakes and shift the transmission to neutral, placing the vehicle in park once it has stopped.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2015-2020 Ram 1500 Classic, 2015-2016 Ram 3500, and Ram 2500 vehicles, and 2016 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis with a gross vehicle weight rating less than 10,000 lbs. The side air bag inflatable curtain (SABIC) inflator end cap may detach from the inflator, or the inflator sidewall may rupture.
The danger: A separated inflator end cap or inflator rupture can allow compressed gas to escape, resulting in the end cap or other components being propelled into the vehicle, increasing the risk of injury or crash.
The fix: Dealers will inspect and replace as necessary, the SABIC assemblies, free of charge. Interim owner notification letters were mailed on October 4, 2021. Owner notification letters were mailed on May 26, 2022. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLC's number for this recall is Y55.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 Ram 1500 pickup trucks. The rear driveshaft may have an incomplete weld fusion between the tube and tube yoke, which may lead to weld cracking or the driveshaft fracturing.
The danger: A fractured rear driveshaft could detach from the vehicle and become a road hazard, or it may result in a loss of drive power, both of which can increase the risk of a crash.
The fix: FCA US will notify owners, and dealers will replace the rear driveshaft, free of charge. The recall began June 13, 2019. Owners may contact FCA US customer service at 1-800-853-1403. The FCA US recall number is V48.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 1500 Classic Pickup trucks equipped with 3.0L Eco Diesel engines. The Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) cooler may crack and allow pre-heated vaporized coolant to enter the EGR system. This mixture may combust inside the intake manifold.
The danger: Combustion in the intake manifold can increase the risk of a fire.
The fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will replace the EGR cooler, free of charge. Dealers will also inspect and, as necessary, replace the intake manifold. The recall began April 16, 2020. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is VB1.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018-2019 RAM 1500 trucks. The rear differential may have been insufficiently filled, possibly resulting in its failure.
The danger: If the rear axle assembly fails, it can cause a loss of drive or the rear wheels may lock up. Either scenario increases the risk of a crash.
The fix: Chrysler will notify owners, and dealers will inspect the rear axle oil level. Rear axles with an insufficient amount of oil will be replaced, free of charge. What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2018 Jeep Renegade, Compass and Grand Cherokee, RAM 1500 and Promaster, Fiat 500x, Dodge Journey, Challenger, Charger and Durango and Chrysler 300x vehicles, 2017-2018 Jeep Wrangler, Dodge Grand Caravan and Chrysler Town and Country vehicles and 2018-2019 Jeep Cherokee and 2018 Chrysler Pacifica and Pacifica Hybrid vehicles. The powertrain control module may be equipped with a voltage regulator chip in the circuit board that may fail, causing a stall or a no start condition.
The danger: A vehicle stall can increase the risk of a crash.

NHTSA Campaign 18V100000
What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US LLC) is recalling certain 2017-2018 RAM 1500, 2500, 3500, 3500 Cab Chassis, 4500 Cab Chassis, and 5500 Cab Chassis vehicles, all equipped with a column shifter. Pushing the brake pedal for prolonged periods when the vehicle is running and in PARK may cause the Brake Transmission Shift Interlock (BTSI) pin to stick in the open position. With the pin in the open position, the transmission can be shifted out of PARK into any gear without pushing the brake pedal or having the key in the ignition.
The danger: Being able to shift the transmission without pushing the brake pedal and/or without a key in the ignition can increase the risk of an unintended vehicle rollaway that may result in personal injury or a crash.
The fix: Chrysler will notify owners and dealers will update the Body Control Module software. Dealers will also test the BTSI operation, replacing the solenoid as necessary. The recall began February 26, 2018. Owners may contact Chrysler customer service at 1-800-853-1403. Chrysler's number for this recall is U11.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee, and 2014-2019 Ram 1500 vehicles equipped with 3.0L diesel engines. A high pressure fuel pump (HPFP) failure may introduce internal debris into the fuel system, potentially resulting in fuel starvation.
The danger: Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of drive power, increasing the risk of a crash.
The fix: Dealers will replace the HPFP, and inspect and replace, if necessary, additional fuel system components, free of charge. Interim notification letters informing owners of the safety risk were mailed July 21, 2022. Owner notification letters for were mailed for Jeep Grand Cherokee owners starting January 11, 2024. Owner notification letters for Ram 1500 owners were mailed March 7, 2024. Owners may contact FCA US, LLC customer service at 1-800-853-1403. FCA US, LLS's number for this recall is Z46.

What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2014-2019 Ram 1500 and 2014-2020 Jeep Grand Cherokee vehicles equipped with 3.0L Diesel engines. What's wrong: Chrysler (FCA US, LLC) is recalling certain 2016-2019 Ram 3500, Ram 1500, 2016-2020 Ram 2500, and 2016 Ram 3500 Cab Chassis vehicles. The right and left side curtain air bag inflators may rupture due to a manufacturing defect.

Traveling on highway, heard noise coming from the engine. I was close to an off ramp and got off the highway. In the process of getting on the off ramp alarms went off. Turned on the flashers, came to a stop partially on the shoulder. Turned off the vehicle, turned it back on and it started right up. Turned to head into town to get some place safe to check the issue and all the alarms went off again. Put the car into neutral and coasted down the road to a local restaurant parking lot. Once safely parked, I opened the hood and my engine was on fire. I ran to the window of the restaurant to get a fire extinguisher and was able to put out the fire quickly. I contacted my insurance carrier and went through the process of repairing the truck. One body shop got it back up and running. Another shop fixed the cosmetic issues. However insurance would only fix the damage from the fire, not the cause of the fire. The truck has been throwing a code stating the EGR Cooler is not functioning properly. Stellantis sent out an independent investigator, however he wasn't allowed to look at the pictures that the body shop took after the incident. Since the truck was put back together and the cosmetic damage was repaired, he couldn't tell the cause of the fire. This EGR Cooler was supposed to be replaced during the recall (NHTSA Campaign # 19V757000), however I don't believe it was. Currently mine is cracked and supposedly the parts are on backorder. So there may need to be a recall to the recall.
The lights on the dash went out while sitting still. All of them flashed on then off again, a warning light about the transmission came on and then off again. The motor surged and would not stop, the brakes would not work, the shifter would not work. The vehicle surged into oncoming traffic.
I was driving and my high beams went out dash lights went out and windshield wipers went on on there own . I then came to a stop light and applied the break and all of the sudden the truck red lined and took off at full speed . I then turned the truck off to kill power to the motor due to it having electrical knob shifter and electrical transfer case This accident has caused my 3 hospital stays and 2 surgery’s

THE CENTER CONSOLE ON THE TRUCK FREEZE UP, TURN BLUE FOR A FEW THEN RESETS OR TURN BLACK THE RESETS OR WHEN REVERSING THE BACKUP CAMERA FREEZES AND STILL SHOWS THE PICTURE WHEN YOU PUT THE VEHICLE IN DRIVE THIS HAS BEEN GOING ON FOR ABOUT A YEAR, UCCONECT AND RAM SAID THERE WOULD BE A FIX IN DEC 2019 AND THERE IS STILL NO FIX, LOOKING AT YOUR RECALLS RECALLS FROM THE DEC 2019 NOTICES RECALL UMBER 19V-886 OR CHRYSLER'S UMBER VE2 IS THE EXACT SAME THING THAT IS GOING ON WITH MY TRUCK

I WANT TO REPORT A SAFETY CONCERN. THE CONCERN IS ALREADY AWARE BY THE MANUFACTURER BUT I WANT TO ADDRESS THE POTENTIAL RISK IT PUT OUR FAMILY IN. THE RECALL IS KNOWN AS THE VB! OR NHTSA # 19V-757. WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK TO HAVE A NICE AND RELIABLE CAR TO TRANSPORT OUR 1 YEAR OLD CHILD IN. OUR LAST 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LEFT US STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RODE WITH OUR KID DUE TO THE COMPUTER TELLING ALL INJECTORS TO STAY OPEN AND RESULTING IN THE MOTOR HYDRO-LOCKING ITSELF. WE TOOK OUT FINANCING TO PURCHASE AND THE GREAT 2018 ECODIESEL DODGE RAM. JUST 2 MONTHS INTO OWNING THIS MY WIFE LOST ALL POWER GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY. SHE REPORTED MASS AMOUNT OF SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD AND THANK GOD SHE MANAGED TO MERGE OVER ALL LANES AND TO THE BEST OF HER ABILITY WITH NO POWER GOT THE TRUCK OFF THE HIGHWAY BY ABOUT 5 FEET AND THEN QUICKLY TURNED OFF THE MOTOR AND DISTANCED HER SELF FROM THE TRUCK. SHE CALLED ME IN COMPLETE PANIC. THIS STORY WOULD BE MUCH DIFFERENT IF OUR CHILD WAS STRAPPED INTO THE CAR SEAT ON THIS PARTICULAR DRIVE. SINCE THIS OCCURRENCE THE TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED IN OVER FLOW AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND CONTINUES TO SIT UNTIL FIAT DISCOVERS A CORRECT REPAIR TO THE CRACKING EGR. I WARN YOU TO ALL YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS THAT YOU HAUL DOWN THE ROAD IN YOUR ECODIESEL. THIS IS A REAL CONCERN! DEALERSHIP HAS CONFIRMED THIS WAS A RESULT OF THE VB1 RECALL. THEIR WAS NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK AS THE MOTOR WAS QUICKLY SHOT OFF. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, AND A NEW TURBO IS ALSO NEEDED. I AM NO SURE OF WHAT OTHER INTERNAL ENGINE COMPONENTS ARE NEEDED REPLACEMENT.
TL* THE CONTACT OWNED A 2018 RAM 1500. THE CONTACT CONNECTED AN ENGINE BLOCK HEATER TO THE VEHICLE DURING COLD INCLEMENT WEATHER CONDITIONS. THE VEHICLE WAS PARKED IN THE CONTACTS DRIVE WAY, WHEN AN INDIVIDUAL INFORMED THE CONTACT THAT THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE CONTACT DISCOVERED THAT THE DRIVER SIDE OF THE VEHICLE WAS ON FIRE. THE CONTACT ENTERED THE VEHICLE AND ATTEMPTED TO REVERSE TO MOVE THE VEHICLE AWAY FROM HIS HOME. THE VEHICLE FAILED TO REVERSE SO THE CONTACT ATTEMPTED TO EXTINGUISH THE FIRE USING A FIRE EXTINGUISHER TO NO AVAIL. THE CONTACT MENTIONED THAT A FEW DAYS PRIOR TO THE INCIDENT 4- 5 FUSES BLEW OUT IN THE VEHICLE. THE FIRE WAS EXTINGUISHED BY THE POLICE THAT ARRIVED. A POLICE REPORT WAS MADE. THE CONTACT DID NOT SUSTAIN ANY INJURIES. THE VEHICLE WAS DEEMED TOTALED BY THE CONTACT'S INSURANCE. THE CONTACT CALLED LOT LAGERS MANKATO (1815 MADISON AVE, MANKATO, MN 56001 (507) 625-5641) WHERE NO ASSISTANCE WAS PROVIDED. THE MANUFACTURER WAS MADE AWARE OF THE FAILURE. THE FIRE WAS NOT IN RELATION TO ANY OPEN RECALL. THE FAILURE MILEAGE WAS 26,500.
Although the carfax states the EGR Cooler has already been serviced and there are no active recalls at this time, EGR Cooler failure has been determined by an independent service center. The vehicle is available for inspection. A potential fire from the EGR Cooler failure puts the driver's life and any passenger's lives at risk. The symptoms are substantial coolant loss with absence of leakage causing the engine to overheat. This symptom has been present since the time I purchased the vehicle in February 2026.
All of a sudden while driving or idling engine will complete shut itself off. Rpm to 0 and if driving truck has shift to park to start. Once shifter to park and restarting car truck will start right back up however this issue has been ongoing and Dodge/ram has been no help with a solution. Brought it to an outside mechanic and after having a ton checked either pointing to a faulty PCM or TIPM module. Recent discovery is the tipm also know as the main fuse box under the hood is overheating - causing the truck to stall out

I rear ended another car and my truck was totaled. The air bags never deployed and I’ve never had an air bag light come on showing there was an issue. The vehicle was safety checked from the dealer when I bought it but they told me to call Dodge (or whomever owns it). I called them and they said someone would call me in 4 days, well here it is on day 6 and no call.
I WANT TO REPORT A SAFETY CONCERN. THE CONCERN IS ALREADY AWARE BY THE MANUFACTURER BUT I WANT TO ADDRESS THE POTENTIAL RISK IT PUT OUR FAMILY IN. THE RECALL IS KNOWN AS THE VB! OR NHTSA # 19V-757. WE BOUGHT THIS TRUCK TO HAVE A NICE AND RELIABLE CAR TO TRANSPORT OUR 1 YEAR OLD CHILD IN. OUR LAST 2012 JEEP GRAND CHEROKEE LEFT US STRANDED IN THE MIDDLE OF THE RODE WITH OUR KID DUE TO THE COMPUTER TELLING ALL INJECTORS TO STAY OPEN AND RESULTING IN THE MOTOR HYDRO-LOCKING ITSELF. WE TOOK OUT FINANCING TO PURCHASE AND THE GREAT 2018 ECODIESEL DODGE RAM. JUST 2 MONTHS INTO OWNING THIS MY WIFE LOST ALL POWER GOING DOWN THE FREEWAY. SHE REPORTED MASS AMOUNT OF SMOKE COMING FROM THE HOOD AND THANK GOD SHE MANAGED TO MERGE OVER ALL LANES AND TO THE BEST OF HER ABILITY WITH NO POWER GOT THE TRUCK OFF THE HIGHWAY BY ABOUT 5 FEET AND THEN QUICKLY TURNED OFF THE MOTOR AND DISTANCED HER SELF FROM THE TRUCK. SHE CALLED ME IN COMPLETE PANIC. THIS STORY WOULD BE MUCH DIFFERENT IF OUR CHILD WAS STRAPPED INTO THE CAR SEAT ON THIS PARTICULAR DRIVE. SINCE THIS OCCURRENCE THE TRUCK HAS BEEN PARKED IN OVER FLOW AT MY LOCAL DEALERSHIP AND CONTINUES TO SIT UNTIL FIAT DISCOVERS A CORRECT REPAIR TO THE CRACKING EGR. I WARN YOU TO ALL YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS THAT YOU HAUL DOWN THE ROAD IN YOUR ECODIESEL. THIS IS A REAL CONCERN! DEALERSHIP HAS CONFIRMED THIS WAS A RESULT OF THE VB1 RECALL. THEIR WAS NO EXTERIOR DAMAGE TO THE TRUCK AS THE MOTOR WAS QUICKLY SHOT OFF. THE INTAKE MANIFOLD NEEDS TO BE REPLACED, AND A NEW TURBO IS ALSO NEEDED. I AM NO SURE OF WHAT OTHER INTERNAL ENGINE COMPONENTS ARE NEEDED REPLACEMENT.
All of a sudden while driving or idling engine will complete shut itself off. Rpm to 0 and if driving truck has shift to park to start. Once shifter to park and restarting car truck will start right back up however this issue has been ongoing and Dodge/ram has been no help with a solution. Brought it to an outside mechanic and after having a ton checked either pointing to a faulty PCM or TIPM module. Recent discovery is the tipm also know as the main fuse box under the hood is overheating - causing the truck to stall out

On [XXX], at [XXX], my 2018 Dodge Ram Eco diesel engaged in fire. At this time, I called 911 and the Fire Department from which I obtained the fire report from respond and extinguish the fire. No police were ever dispatched. After exiting the vehicle, it seems like the vehicle was already on fire due to the progression of the fire already. I recently got the truck back from a local Dodge Dealership Cannon in Westpoint MS due to a high-pressure fuel pump recall. The truck also had another recall for failure of the EGR cooler. Which will result in possible fire according to their recall. Dodge motor company sent out an inspector who took numerous pictures and later determined by Dodge they were not at any negligence due to manufacturing of the vehicle, but unfortunately, I strongly disagree with their conclusion due to the numerous of incidents involving fire reported with the same particular make and model of the vehicle. Prior to paying cash for this vehicle, I had the dealership connect it to an obd-11 scanner to ensure that there weren't any codes. (I wasn't aware at the time that if the codes were cleared prior to the test drive and before the vehicle was drove a certain amount of miles nothing would show up ) The truck seemed to be in ok condition. Before even making it 10 miles off the lot to my home the salesman who was to follow me in my new vehicle had issues and upon return to the dealership the truck had several "stored" and "active" codes which the salesman again cleared and told me to drive home and come back Monday with the truck the truck went into catastrophic failure and has been sitting since. The codes are P0365 indicating the entire PCM is failing or failed and P0606 an internal processor code which has to do with the computers not being able to calculate wheel speeds with the transmission and engine and how much gas to spray. And a P0616C EatC level 2 RPM performance code. There codes have to have been issues within the truck from my understanding to be both active and stored codes. I was sold a dangerous truck and they're not willing to give my money back or put me in a safe vehicle.
Rollover valve in factory gas tank is defective and remains closed. This causes an issue when refilling the vehicle with gas. The gas pump will continuously stop filling as the fumes build up in the tank. This should be a recall as it’s a safety issue and a new tank cost over $2,000.

I am reporting a fuel‑system defect on my 2018 RAM 1500. The vehicle has only 43,325 miles, which is exceptionally low for its age, and it has been properly maintained. Despite this, the fuel‑tank venting system has failed. The dealership diagnosed the issue as a faulty vent valve located within the fuel tank. This defect prevents the vehicle from being refueled at a normal rate. During refueling, the gas pump repeatedly shuts off, and a standard refueling process takes significantly longer than normal. This occurs at all stations and with all pumps. The dealer’s proposed remedy is complete replacement of the fuel tank at a cost of $2,104.64. Because the vent valve is integrated into the tank, they stated it cannot be serviced separately. A critical fueling component should not fail at this mileage under normal use, and the failure of the venting system raises concerns regarding safe refueling, potential fuel backsplash, and proper EVAP emissions operation. This is not a wear‑and‑tear issue. It is a premature failure of a core fuel‑system component. Stellantis has declined goodwill assistance, stating my vehicle is "too old", nor has it issued a recall for this defect, despite the unusually low mileage and the nature of the failure. A quick search on Google or YouTube yields multiple, and similar, customer experiences. I am submitting this report so NHTSA can evaluate whether this issue represents a broader defect affecting additional vehicles of this model and generation. 1. Electronic power steering rack and pinnion and the control module on the rack for power steering. Yes vehicle is available for inspection. 2. While driving 100km (62miles)/hr on a highway lost all steering control and was forced to hit the ditch to avoid a roadway curve and oncoming traffic. Brakes functioned but steering did not. Putting my families lives and others at risk of a vehicle collision. No injuries were sustained. 3. Steering control issues has been confirmed by a dealership and mechanic shop. 4. Two years ago, the contact received a notification for NHTSA Campaign Number: 19V757000 (Engine and Engine Cooling); however, the parts for the repair were unavailable. At the time, the dealer had been notified about the recall and confirmed that parts were not yet available. A year later, the dealer called that contact to inform her and that parts slowly coming to their dealer and that she had been placed on a waiting list for the recall repair. Recently, the contact stated that while her husband was driving at 65 MPH, the vehicle failed to accelerate upon depression of the accelerator pedal; two unknown warning lights also appeared on the instrument panel. As her husband pulled over, a white color smoke began to emit from the engine. Upon lifting up the engine's hood, her husband saw flames coming from under the engine. Her husband immediately called 911 and while on the phone with the dispatcher, the vehicle became engulfed in flames. The fire department arrived ten minutes later and extinguished the fire. ABS light and traction control lights on, on dash. With these lights on, the cruise control and 4x4 do not work. One garage replaced front right axle, wheel bearing, brake rotor, brake pads, and ABS sensor. Lights were then out for a day but then came back. Took to a second garage and they replaced right rear ABS sensor. Lights went out for another day and then came back. They are still on. Because of Christmas it's been hard to get anyone to look at it. Also they say this is a known problem without any definite solution.

Car dealership (CarMax) has been not repairing vehicles that are still under warranty and not having loaner vehicles available and having secondary repair shops that are not getting paid to repair warranty issues. My vehicle has been having cv boot issues that have not been repaired as of this date (4/9/2026 .
I bought my vehicle 10 months ago the Ram 1500 rebel 2018 without knowing its suspensions issues when the cold weather started my air suspension issues started I wen to the dealer they couldn’t do anything about the price to fix is to much to pay at once out pocket for something much rams rebels go through in this case mine the worst part when I did the oil change and alignment the dealer stated that my suspension was to low to do an alignment I have to fix it first and then do the alignment and now if I don’t fix it I have to drive my car unsafely trough the road when honestly I think is something the manufacturer should fix or give me a discount for it’s manufacturer defect that all rams rebel go trough my front suspension is very low and that’s stoping me to get my alignment i never mistreated my car or even press the air suspension button to lower it it just happened when the cold weather started I think is something the manufacture could help me with or at least give me a discount or recall on the vehicle thank you.
Automatic Air Suspension defective. Truck back 2 wheels remains in "off road" mode while the front 2 tires remain in" plant" mode. Brought to carmax after owning for a month. they brought to dealer where is was serviced and fixed at the time. same issue is ongoing after now 2nd attempt to fix. replaced relay part and broke a week later. now having battery and alternator issues along with suspension is still broken.
this vehicle it's located at the New England area where winter eats metal. the links and axis axle are exposed to salt on winter months. see images attached. the whole underline vehicle should have a decent anti rust protective coat. the rear transmission cap should be replaced as well.

The police estimate other vehicle traveling 16 miles per hour. I was in an accident, I hit a bale of hay doing 65 mph that a local farmer lost off the back of his feed truck. My air bags DID NOT deploy. I never had any warning lights on my dash warning me to service air bags. Thankfully I wasn’t severely injured and walked away with no more then a sore and bruised body and shaken up nerves.

Additionally, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle stalled and was towed to the local mechanic. The alternator and battery were replaced on several occasions; however, the failure persisted. The contact stated that on another occasion, while driving at an undisclosed speed, the tailgate erroneously opened. The cause of the failures was not yet determined. The manufacturer was notified of the failures and informed the contact that the VIN was not included in NHTSA Campaign Numbers: 18V398000 (BACK OVER PREVENTION) or 19V347000 (LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES). The uconnect 8.4 radio screen started delaminating. The delamination caused the screen to randomly turn things on/off, call random people including the emergency number, radio switching channels and changing volume, park assist warning buzzer to stop working, back-up camera ceased working and numerous other symptoms. Any, or all of these symptoms, will distract a driver to the point where an accident could occur. This has not only happened to me but thousands of other owners who own uconnect radios in their vehicles. The company, in my case FCA, has ignored this problem and has refused to repair or replace the radio. Clearly this is a faulty part that needs to be replaced before someone gets seriously injured or killed.
So my power steering is going in and out while I’m driving, making it very hard to steer and keep control of the vehicle. I’m reporting this issue. Because I feel like it’s a safety problem.

There is a visible defect in the touch screen of the infotainment unit, which seems to be progressing in a top down direction. I suspect that the touch screen is delaminating and the electrical characteristics of the unit are degrading. The unit now "self-selects" and changes radio settings (FM to AM, or station), or screens (navigation, to CarPlay, to comfort settings, to...). Any and all features selectable through the touch screen, are accessible and changeable randomly; navigation screens and destination changes via both CarPlay and the onboard navigation system; windshield wiper/rain detection settings; high-beam auto dim on/off; parking assist; HVAC temperature, vent selection controls and fan speed; windshield and side mirror defroster; trailer setting selection. So far driver distraction has presented the primary risk. I have experienced the unit self-selecting/changing selections at a rate of approximately 5 selections per second, too fast to keep up with while parked or driving. I am concerned that parking assist features could be turned off or warning volumes changed without my knowledge. If towing a trailer, having the trailer braking options changed or having a different trailer selected could be dangerous. Power relays are also being switched rapidly. My issue has not been confirmed by a dealer or independent service center, but there are numerous Youtube postings documenting the issue. My vehicle has not been inspected by the manufacturer, police, insurance representatives or others. There were no warning lamps or messages. The first symptom was the undesired stopping of podcasts or changing of episodes. The problem became prominent approximately 12/14/2023 and has persisted. On [XXX] while driving on [XXX] in southern California the unit dialed and connected to the 911 operator twice and terminated both calls without my choosing to do so. Blower motor stopped working so couldn't get window to defrost so I could see to drive. Replaced blower motor, still didn't work took it to shop they said connector to the TIPM module had melted so had it replaced plus asked mechanic to check all wiring, grounds,ect to see why blower motor not working. Pd over 700. To have this done blower motor worked for 1 day now doesn't work again. I believe the TIPM module is a safety and health hazard besides all the other stuff it messes up that just drive you crazy so it's also a mental health hazard. It a manufacturer defect on almost all there vehicles, not just the few they did put a Tipm recall on. Ty
The dash command center for the vehicle failed and has become delaminated and cannot be programmed for any functions such as hands free, defrosting, heating, clock, navigation, voice command or any other related necessary safety features. The windshield sweats and frosts over on the inside at temperatures below freezing with no way to defrost without command controls. The vehicle was taken to the dealership and the problem documented but nothing was offered other than replace command center at owners expense. There were no warnings of anything going wrong.
Have read other complaints of similar problems. The problem started with our 2018 Dodge Ram 1500 several weeks ago with the navigation system changing screens to points of interest, then yesterday everything messed up. Upon starting the truck the touch screen seems to work fine for about five minutes, then it starts jumping around from one screen to another. It randomly tries to route a destination, the radio changes stations, tries to call phone numbers, and the climate controls jump all over the place. No heat, no air, and most alarming is that the defroster does not work. The problem persists while sitting still and driving. There may be other problems, but the touch screen does not respond. All this is very distracting and dangerous.
The UConnect is malfunctioning, and my vehicle is available for inspect upon request. However I have many videos of the issue. It is exhibiting a “phantom touch” where it will click on buttons and change settings. My life was in danger when it would turn my windshield defrost on and off/change the temperature causing the windshield to fog up. It completely binds me while driving and I have to attempt to pull over and manually wipe the windshield. It is also constantly pressing the SOS button and calling 911, and I have to explain to the dispatcher that it is not an emergency/my truck is calling them (it’s a federal crime to call 911 repeatedly without an emergency). It has been confirmed by public forums and by another known customer. I am having it confirmed by the dealership today. The item has been inspected by those in the vehicle and getting inspected by the dealer. There is no lights or error code associated with the issue.

THE TRUCK WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH A DEER IN 2018 THAT DID NOT RESULT IN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING. THE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING ON A COUNTY HIGHWAY WHEN A DEER RAN OUT AND WAS STRUCK WITH THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK. AFTER TALKING WITH THE TOW TRUCK COMPANY AND THE AUTO BODY SHOP, THEY FELT THAT THE SEVERITY OF THE SECOND COLLISION AND THE LOCATION SHOULD HAVE DEPLOYED THE AIR BAGS, BUT IT DID NOT. THE PICTURES AND POLICE REPORT ARE FOR THE SECOND COLLISION.
The rear window is defective from the manufacturer. My vehicle is taking in water from a faulty design where the window drain does work and pushes water back into the vehicle. I have young kids and there is mold everywhere. The MOPAR agent admitted the window is defective but only some of the VINs were offered a free replacement. Clearly, they didn't identify all vehicles because there are numerous complaints on forums and on NHTSA website. Please do the right thing and issue a recall and give your loyal customers their money back for your faulty design. In addition, there is no ETA on the replacement glass which means that this is a widespread issue and MOPAR can't manufacture enough replacement rear windows.
Tailgate on truck will randomly open, including while driving. This can cause debris in the bed to become unsecure and fall out of the back. I have had this happen several times in the past. Most recently it fell while I had my trailer on cause damage to the tailgate which will now need replacing.
Ram 1500 interiors are damaged and destroyed when water intrudes into the cabs, a problem Fiat Chrysler allegedly knows about. The water leaks allegedly cause electronics to short-circuit which damages the rear airbags and propellant. And the water leaks cause mold and mildew which sickens occupants and makes the Ram 1500 trucks health hazards. In addition to the rear airbags, the Ram 1500 water leaks can allegedly cause problems with the "push-to-start ignition system, locks, windows, headlights, taillights, interior lights, windshield wipers, climate control, infotainment system and navigation, and back up camera." Ram 1500 drivers should allegedly expect failures of the headlights and tail lights, issues with starting the trucks, turn signal and brake light failures, faulty backup cameras and infotainment system problems. The Ram 1500 water leak lawsuit further claims drivers can lose the windshield wipers and the ability to lock or unlock the trucks. Fiat Chrysler has allegedly known about the Ram 1500 water leak problem since 2016 but actively concealed the alleged defects. My ABS is not working due to a faulty ABS module or hydraulic control unit this has caused my truck to lock up the brakes during a hard stop instead of the ABS working it also has affected the cruise control. It no longer works. This is not an issue just with the 2500,3500 let’s get 1500 on board.
I am writing to your Company regarding the unavailability of the ABS Control Module for 2017 Ram 1500 trucks. My truck, like those of numerous other Ram owners, has a malfunctioning ABS Control Module. Because of this malfunction, the ABS and cruise control do not work. In turn, this places me and other owners of this vehicle in an unsafe situation, in that the lack of an operating ABS system is conducive to skidding and accidents. Some owners have even reported that they cannot drive their vehicles due to locked brakes resulting from this malfunction. I have tried every source in existence in my efforts to find a replacement module, but I have been totally unsuccessful. I have been told by one of your Customer Service representatives that your Company is “…unable to maintain a complete inventory for an indefinite period and the lower the demand, the less likely it is we will have stocked parts. There are countless number of individuals like myself who have paid good hard earned money to own these trucks only to find out that everyone I know has endured the issue with the ABS module it seems. And online that's all you can find now me owning other manufactured vehicles I've never encountered this issue before. But I don't understand how this is a known part that will fail and when it does fail it's up to the owners of the truck to have to pay out of pocket thousands of dollars to get it repaired after spending more than $50,000 to be able to own the truck. I can't imagine the other owners who are not able to afford these costly expenses to get repaired immediately and are forced to continue driving on the road ways endangering themselves and other innocent lives on the road ways
I have a 2018 RAM 1500 that keeps flashing for the code for the ABS module. This malfunction has completely disabled the ABS system. My mechanic feels that this is a genuine safety hazard and the module needs to be replaced. RAM says the parts have been on back order for over a year. I'm on several different RAM/DOGE message boards and there are plenty of trucks that are having this issue and are told the same that the part is on back order for over a year. THE TRUCK WAS IN A HEAD ON COLLISION WITH A DEER IN 2018 THAT DID NOT RESULT IN THE AIR BAGS DEPLOYING. THE TRUCK WAS TRAVELING ON A COUNTY HIGHWAY WHEN A DEER RAN OUT AND WAS STRUCK WITH THE FRONT END OF THE TRUCK. Passenger seatbelt in front will not latch happened this spring. The car dealership had my truck for 3 weeks the begining of June to clean exhaust filter and find out why every warning light on the dash was on and did not fix the seatbelt or the other two recalls according to what I pull up with my vin. I have 4 children aged 4-12 this is unacceptable.

The passenger seat belt buckle was rough or sharp enough that it cut into the belt fabric. It would ride up the belt when retracting and hit the upper limit of travel and cut into the belt. For safety I needed to replace the belt with a new one. I saved the torn seat belt assembly and my receipt for the repair.

The 8.4" UConnect Screen has a bubble along the whole top of the screen due to delamination. This causes the stations to randomly jump from station to station and if you make a phone call with the connected phone, after you hang up, it will start calling random people. You can disconnect the battery and leave it disconnected for a few minutes, but it starts back within a day. Upon Google search, there are multiple issues with this same problem with this screen along all lines of Dodge and Chrysler products.
The Uconnect 8.4" has a delamination problem that causes the screen to act like it's being touched. This causes distractions because the seats vent/heat turn on/off. The radio station changes frequently. It makes calls from your phone using Bluetooth and the only way to stop it is by using your phone which causes distractions. This is a known problem based on Google searches and Ram/Chrysler should fix this issue before ppl are injured/killed while driving. The u connect screen controls, climate, hazard lights, phone, and other apps which is a huge problem and safety issue.
The radio which is a 8.4 uconnect screen had started to delaminate cause the screen to randomly select items and constantly switch back and forth from one screen media to hvac controls and apps, it automatically turn my heated and cooled seats on and off and again and had even turned my auto dimmer for my rear view mirror off, and when I tried to turn it back on it would select the auto dimmer like I was touching the screen when I was not. This mind you while I was trying to drive at night making a huge distraction. It constantly hits items on the screen which brings up dialog which requires me to look down away from the road.
The screen, used for HVAC functions, seat heating/cooling, radio, hands-free bluetooth, backup camera, etc, becoming delaminated. Screen will randomly think that it is being pressed and disconnect phone calls, modify HVAC levels, and change radio stations. This is becoming a widely recognized issue across several vehicles that use the Uconnect 8.4 inch touchscreen (CDJR vehicles). THE SERVICE ENGINE LIGHT CAME ON AS WELL AS THE LIGHTENING BOLT IN RED. I STOPPED AND TURNED EVERYTHING OFF HOPING TO RESET AND WHEN I TURNED THE VEHICLE ON EVERYTHING DISAPPEARED UNTIL I GOT BACK ON THE HIGHWAY AND THEN I HAD PROBLEMS ACCELERATING AS ALL OF GAGES DIDN'T SEEM TO ENGAGE. I GOT TO THE NEXT EXIT AND PULLED INTO THE CLOSEST PARKING LOT AND TURNED THE VEHICLE OFF. HOWEVER, IT DID NOT TURN OFF. ALL OF MY GAGES WENT BESSEL, THE WINDSHIELD WIPERS TURNED ON, ON THEIR OWN, AND THEN ALL THE LIGHTS ON THE SHIFTER TURNED RED AND FLASHED. THE DASHBOARD CONTINUED TO LIGHT UP LIKE IT WAS TRYING TO RESET. I TRIED TO START THE VEHICLE AND IT WOULD NOT START. WHILE DRIVING DOWN THE HIGHWAY AND SWITCHING LANES (BEFORE I KNOW OF THE ISSUE) THE TRUCK BECAME VERY LOOSE. I WAS DRIVING AT THE SPEED LIMIT AND JUST THE ACT OF CHANGING THE LANES CAUSED THE REAR END TO SWAY A BIT. I FEEL IF THIS HAD HAPPENED TO A LESS EXPERIENCED DRIVER THEY COULD HAVE OVERREACTED AND CAUSED AN ACCIDENT. A 16 YEAR OLD WOULD HAVE REACTED A LOT DIFFERENT THAN MYSELF A 40 YEAR WITH DRIVING EXPERIENCE IN MANY DIFFERENT SITUATIONS. THE SUSPENSION GOING OUT IN THESE VEHICLES IS A KNOWN PROBLEM AND NEEDS TO BE TAKEN CARE OF. DODGE SHOULD OWN UP TO IT. BOTTOM LINE, THE 4 CORNER AIR SUSPENSION WILL CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY OR DEATH TO SOMEONE DRIVING AT HIGHWAY SPEED WHEN IT GOES OUT. All 4 tires have cracks at or near the bead and getting worse. 22655 miles on the tires that were factory installed at truck purchase. P27560R20. Rotated every 8000 miles and pressure is checked weekly to maintain inflation.
